This Air B&B experience well exceeded our expectations. Diana was a gracious host who met us when we arrived in the evening and showed us around. Each of the 5 people in our party (3 adults, 2 kids) had their own bed in a private space, and the beds were cozily made up when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with breakfast items, like eggs, toast, waffle mix (with maker), orange juice, coffee, and milk. Everything was clean and nicely appointed. The location was within easy drive to City Museum, Budweiser Tour, and Arch, with free parking across the street. This was probably the best house rental experience we have had as a family in many years of travel.
The Dutchtown Gem was a real Gem. Dianna generously picked us up at metro train station because we arrived later in the evening. She helped us with bus schedules. The accommodations were very clean, cozy and comfortable. I wish the weather would have been warmer so we could have enjoyed sitting on the deck. She provided light breakfast items. It was a wonderful stay. We highly recommended staying at the Dutchtown Gem:)
Diana and Jim are very nice!! Their house is quite cozy and comfortable which impressed us. It has the great living room and kitchen. We can prepare breakfast by ourselves. They are super fans of Green Packers and shared a lot of stories about the team that is fascinating and awesome! I wish we have chances to come here again: )
Diana was an incredible host, and the space had all the things we needed! She adapted with us as our plans changed, and everything was clean, cozy, warm and wonderful.
This place is amazing! Building is old but kept up so well! It's warm
And cozy. Located in great area. We were 5 And there were 4 beds and a couch. Every detail in decor is with LOVE. Street parking galore, stocked
Kitchen with coffee and breakfast basics. Diane greeted us with a smile and felt comforting to see her.
Our host was fantastic and despite having a busy weekend herself managed to make us feel welcome and have a wonderful place ready for us when we arrived.
There was ample space for our relatively large party and the feel of the building was delightful. Additionally it was thankfully close to anywhere we wanted to get it.
All-in-all, a great experience!
Thanks Adam, so glad that you had a great experience. Sorry about the heat, I forewarned Kelly...sorry, but you could have maybe opened the door to the balcony to get some relief. Thanks again, and sorry I didn't have time to get over and watch, I would have totally enjoyed that! Next time..:)
Had a great experience staying at the Dutchtown Gem! It was very cozy and it felt like I was at home even though I was traveling. Diane provided basic breakfast food so we could get an extra jump on our first day. The neighborhood was nice and close to local establishments as well as access to St Louis attractions. Would definitely stay here again if I was back in the St Louis area.
Born and raised in the same house, raised our children here and recently moved to the first floor. Jim and I love to travel, trains have become my new love and recently took Amtrak from St. louis to Reno...most beautiful ride Colorado and Utah breathtaking. We've traveled to Italy, London, Prague to name a few. We are devout Green Bay Packer fans and love attending early season games and training camp. We have 2 amazing grown children, our daughter a ESOL teacher and our son an Army Aviator and 7 grand chlldren, 2 local and the other 5 where the Army sends them..
I married the first boy I ever "fell in love" with at the age of 10 and met up 16 years later and married. Jim has worked for Fed Ex since it's inception and hopes to retire next year. Me....you name it, I've done it!! I've worked for a bookkeeper, salon, public relations consultant for an arts high school, founded a not for profit for artistic students, caretaker to seniors, janitor and an event planner. My proudestt event was a 3 day celebration including a house party, evening dinner party with a master illutionist, bagpiper piping, and getting the birthday "girl", who was a diehard St. Louis Caqrdinals fan onto the field for the first pitch for a game between the Cards and the Cubs.. Davis Freese was the catcher for her and an amazing pitch right to him to celebrate her 100th birthday.
