Interaction with Guests
We are right around the corner if you need anything during your stay but we prefer to let our guests have the run of the house without feel "watched." We probably won't meet unless you need something :)
Midtown is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Atlanta. Centrally located to just about everything but safer and more residential than downtown. Midtown has it all - Piedmont Park, restaurants, bars/clubs, boutiques, offices, and entertainment. Surrounded by million dollar estate homes and stylish condos, our Victorian is one block from the Park on a quiet, safe residential street. Midtown is the Hollywood favorite - appearing in multiple films. In fact, our Victorian was Vince Vaughn's home in the Internship! If you're in town for work downtown or Midtown or hoping to catch a show at the Fox or explore the restaurant/bar scene, Midtown is where you want to stay.
In Atlanta your options are Marta, uber, or car rental. I can't say enough about Uber. It's a free mobile app - cheaper and faster than a taxi - all online - no money changes hands. As a local I use it all the time and I'm always impressed. Marta is great but there aren't a ton of stops - luckily the 10th st Marta stop is 4 blocks from our property. Car rental is another great option - off street parking with our property.
No smoking inside the apartment - please move to the porch. Be respectful of other neighboring guests with noise levels at night and in the morning ("quiet time" after 10pm and before 9am - soft voices, walking and talking during quiet time). Move loud conversations and get togethers to local restaurants and bars. 3pm check in and 11am check out time is firm unless you get prior written approval. You may use any of the staple ingredients (oil, milk, sugar, etc) and coffee free of charge during your stay. We ask that if you drink any of the alcohol (if there is any in the unit at the time) that you leave what you think is fair or replace it :) Enjoy your stay! And you can always contact us if you need anything!
The apartment was beautifully appointed...light and airy. I thought the kitchen was wonderful and I really did want to cook but, alas did not. The patio is awesome! We ended an evening having drinks outside. And the front porch is stunning. The apartment was convenient to a slew of restaurants in the vicinty and so close to Piedmont Park (they have a small farmers market - a good place to sample food and coffee). But, the park is beautiful!
We had to depart a day earlier - I was a wee bit sad about it.
While we didn't meet Jane ( & Louise), she was always responsive to my query. And she was very kind about it also. If we return in May for GT's graduation, I'd ideally like to return to the same apt - this time maybe try the ups
This was a lovely little one-bedroom pied a terre in Midtown Atlanta. The place was spacious, comfortable and amply stocked for our two-night stay. There was a nice deck in the backyard that we didn't get to take advantage of because of the rainy weather, but it looked like a great place to hang out with a drink and/or a book. While we never saw Jane and Louise, we never had a need. They sent us very detailed instructions regarding check-in procedures that worked like a charm.
The house is walking distance to a shopping center with a Trader Joe's, Starbucks, art house movie theatre and a bunch of restaurants. There's also a Caribou Coffee and Flying Biscuit Cafe (legendary breakfast joint) even closer, though we never walked in that direction. As we drove around Atlanta to meet friends in various neighborhoods we found the apartment a convenient home base regardless of destination.
The one minor frustration was parking. Though Jane and Louise left very specific instructions regarding parking procedures, a guest staying in a different unit chose not to heed them and we got blocked in one morning. We ended up having to use Uber in order to make an appointment. Clearly, this was not the fault of our hosts, but of an inconsiderate guest - just be aware that this is one unit of a triplex. Parking is off an alley behind the house, which can be a little tricky to find your first time. If you arrive during the day, I suggest parking on 9th and walking around the back to get the lay of the land. That made it much easier to find the alley entrance for off-loading and check-in. (You can't park on 9th after 5:00 pm.)
We would definitely consider a return trip to Jane and Louise's place for our next trip to Atlanta.
I so loved this place - I didn't want to leave. The architecture of the home is gorgeous. The ultra high ceilings and open floor plan make the apartment feel extremely spacious. And the neighborhood is just fantastic. Feels like a little small town oasis situated inside a big city. I can't wait to come back and stay again.
The location of this apartment couldn't have been more ideal. It was very clean and very cozy. There was a misunderstanding with my time of agreed arrival, but I was still able to check in early - I enjoyed a little lunch nearby while I waited. Louise was very kind to bring me a tea kettle - I drink a lot of tea over coffee so it was a nice touch. Many of the necessities were there and I love when places provide washing essentials! Great place, good decor - I would stay again.
I thought the home was very nice indeed. Full kitchen, full-sized refrigerator, lots of dishes, etc. Great porch in the front, and huge deck off the back. Also nice to have real high-speed internet and satellite TV (not the boiled down versions you get in a regular hotel).
Overall I'd recommend this Airbnb!!
Jane and Louisa's place is lovely. It's in the terrific residential neighborhood in midtown Atlanta. This is a very cozy and pristine flat. All of the amenities in this 1 bedroom accommodation are in excellent condition. Even though the weather was not particularly accommodating to our visit, we didn't mind just hanging out here and enjoying the place. I am happy to recommend Jane and Louise's warm and very comfortable unit to anyone considering staying here. Thank you so much for your hospitality too. Robert and Gabe. Oakland CA.
