The neighborhood is very quiet and family friendly. It is positioned between a major transit hub (Daly City BART station) and a large shopping center but the houses are tucked away on quiet well maintained streets. It is easy to walk to transit or shopping and parking is easy if you are using a car. You can be in the busiest parts of San Francisco is minutes but return to a quiet neighborhood with lots of nearby amenities.
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), the regions subway system is very close by. BART has service from the San Francisco Airport to the Daly City station. If arriving after mid-night, there are cabs and shuttles which run $25-$30 but this can be economical if you have a number of people in your party. The airport is located about 5 miles from the house. Walking to the BART station is very doable but if you drive to the station there is reasonably priced all day parking available. There are also buses that connect from the BART station to various locations in San Francisco. One bus, #28 takes you directly to the Golden Gate Bridge, Bust and fares range in price from about $2.-$4.. depending on the route. A multi-system (Clipper) card system will allow you to add money to a card at stops and ride on any of the various transit systems. We keep maps and transit information in the house.

I stayed for 2.5 weeks with my partner and our two children (aged 8 and 5). Having stayed in a downtown SF hostel on my own for the previous week I was very glad to get out to the peace and quiet of Daly City. The house is in a good location. We hired a car for some of our stay and used public transport the rest. The kids managed the 10-minute walk to the BART station/bus stop without a problem. Very handy also to be so close to the supermarket(s). Linda and her niece Stella couldn't have been more helpful. Milk, bread, coffee and scones were provided for our arrival and the house was stocked with everything one could need. We would definitely stay in the house again.
Linda was a super-kind and thoughtful host. I arranged to spend nearly a month at her great, well-situated home with my wife and two-year old son as we transitioned back to the Bay Area after several years overseas. Linda took great pains to make sure that we had a soft landing - we are grateful.
The house is spacious and perfectly located - just a short walk from an array of services, including Trader Joe's. The walk to BART is only about 10 minutes and makes travel throughout the Bay Area as convenient as can be. In short, great house and great hosts.
What can we say about Bob & Linda, They are excellent, accommodating hosts. We were doing a major remodel on our place in SF and needed a home that could accommodate 2 adults, baby, big dog and a location that had great access to downtown SF for my wife’s work and access to the silicon valley for me. We're locals and were happily surprised how great this location was. It's a cheap Uber ride to pretty much anywhere in SF, you can walk to BART for public transport and it's very close to the beach for morning walks with our dog. We love city living because we enjoy walking to pick up groceries or dinner and wow everything is within a couple blocks, the restaurants in the area are great, Japanese, Indian, Blueline Pizza (same owner of LittleStar in the mission my favorite pizza) the list goes on etc.. . Our remodel ran longer than expected and we ended up staying for 3 months. The house is very cute, nice lay out, plenty of room :), Fully equipped with everything you need and even items for our baby like a crib and highchair. I would highly recommend staying here. We have great memories from our time here. Now that I know this area I would recommend to anyone.
Thanks again Bob and Linda, your placed worked out fantastic for us.

Superamables los anfitriones,
la casa era maravillosa y tenía de todo, no le falta de nada,
no se puede quedar más contento, repetiríamos gustosamente, es muy recomendable,
We stayed in this home last year and enjoyed it so much we returned this year. The property is a well maintained home in a clean quiet neighborhood. The house has everything a normal house would have. There is extra towels and sheets in the closet, toys and board games to keep the children occupied, there is Wifi in the house for your Tablet or Laptop, the full kitchen is completely stocked so you can prepare meals, there are maps of the area on the wall in the dining room to help you find your way around. Two blocks away is a large shopping center with a Safeway grocery store, a Trader Joe's, a Home Depot and many restuarants and eaterys to suit your needs. There are several fuel stations in the area, public transportation (including the Bay Area Rapid Transit system known as 'BART') is within walking didstance. The freeway is close and you can drive to Golden Gate Park or Fisherman's Wharf in about 20 minutes depending on traffic. Everything you would visit San Francisco for is close without having to actully stay in San Francisco.
The host Linda and Joe will do anything in their powers to help you and make your stay better. I can not say enough about their kindness and genuine caring. They truely want you to feel at home. I met the property caretaker Stella one afternoon as she returned to the house. She also was kind and friendly and offered to help if we needed anything. If I hadn't met her I never would have known she was there.
Returning to this home at the end of the day is a relief after driving through city traffic and searching for parking spaces in San Francisco.
Both times we stayed in this home we have enjoyed positive experiances. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time we visit the area.
If you are looking at this listing and wondering if you would enjoy staying here I encourage you to book it.
Linda met us and made us feel very welcome and at home. Having OJ and milk in fridge and coffee ground and ready was a surprising treat. House had great book collection and was full of maps and guides for the bay area. The house was perfect for us and well located for getting around SF. It was close to freeways, BART, the beach and the park. Really worked well for our stay and our plans. Would definitely stay again and recommend Linda's house.
House is great, homely and spacious, Linda was there to meet us despite us being a bit late due to our difficulties locating the property in the dark. Very kind host.
Obviously Daly City is not SF proper, but it is very convenient to get almost anywhere what with BART system and highways 1 and 280 right there.
Glad we stayed, would come again.
My husband and I both grew up in the mid-west but have been in San Francisco for 45 years. We are active in parks and recreation projects as volunteers and advocates.
We love the city and never tire of discovering new things about it. We travel as much as we can and live life to the fullest.
