Basma is really nice and a dedicated host. Me and my friend Marina arrived in her apartment later than programmed but she was still there with a big smile and offered us tea and cake. We didn't have much time to talk with her since we were out the most of the time, but she was always willing, kind and ready to give us some tips about the city and the places to visit. Her little apartment was very clean and cozy and so was the bedroom, with a comfortable bed and a fan near the window that's even better than an air conditioner for the hot nights. It's located in a quiet area only few steps from a tram station that can rapidly bring you at Sultanahmet, the historical part of the city, where most of the attractions are located and one of the best places I've ever been. You can also reach Sultanahmet walking about 30 minutes (as we did most of the times). Near the apartment there are also a very convenient market and some Turkish restaurants.
I would definitely recommend staying with Basma, both for the place she offers and for her:)
We had a wonderful stay with Basma! Our only regret was that we could not stay longer! Basma is a wonderful, giving host with a beautiful, hospitable spirit. She offers her guests so much warmth and care! We had a wonderful time visiting with Basma over snacks and meals, and getting to know the other guests who were also staying with her. I would definitely recommend staying in Basma's home! It will be a home away from home for you. It was a great base for our stay in Istanbul!
Basma has a good value and welcoming apartment to share close to many attractions in Istanbul. You will enjoy her hospitality and the authentic home stay experience when you stay there. Thanks Basma.
Basma is a nice, helpful and very caring host. She helped us a lot with different things, both information and practically. Basma was always available mornings and evenings.
Basma's home is a great choice to stay in Istanbul. It's located in convenient place close to tram (several stops from the historical center/Sultanahmet and also connection to Taksim/Istiklal with tram+funicular) and metro (connection to Ataturk airport). We often walked on foot, because it's not so far from historical part of the city (20-25 min). Behind the mosque which is on the main street with numerous shops, supermarkets and cafes suitable both for tourists and locals.
We definitely recommend to stay in her apartments.
And it was really interesting to spend evenings talking with her about everything.
Basma, we'll miss that great time in Istanbul! :)
