Charleston is only a short 35 minute drive and is a wonderful place for many interests including historical landmarks, beautiful harbor tours and a perfect place for foodies with some of the best restaurants in the country. Charleston was voted #1 city in America by Conde Nast Traveler for the last 3 years. It was also voted #1 of Top 5 Cities in the world last year and came in at #5 this year, also by CN Traveler. You must break away from the quiet, relaxing environment of Seabrook to visit Charleston at least once!
Interaction with Guests
Wyndham Management Co services this property and they can help you with any of your needs while you are staying in our home.
Seabrook is a small, family oriented private community. It is more quiet than surrounding islands with miles of beautiful beach and plenty to see and do, including wildlife and recreational activities. Try to catch the dolphins "strand feeding" - it's amazing! It takes place right at the inlet near our beach boardwalk.
There is a grocery, pharmacy, medical/dental care, gas station and plenty of shopping and restaurants just 3.5 miles from our home in Freshfields Village. Just outside Freshfields Village is Rosebanks Farm Roadside stand with fresh vegetables, fish, eggs, etc! Every Saturday from 10am - 2pm there is a Farmer's Market - just 25 minutes away.
You will need a car to conveniently get around and there is enough parking for 3 vehicles. Bicycles may also be rented and are a fun way to travel around the island.
If you need transportation to/from the airport, we can arrange it.
Other Things to Note
Rentals during the summer months are weekly and run Saturday to Saturday, please contact me if you need something different. Please note: Reservations for less than 7 nights will be charged an additional $300 cleaning fee.
This is a non-smoking home and there are no pets allowed.
Dear Lori & Wallace,
Thank you so much for allowing me to stay in your home. Everything was exactly as you described and the house was perfect. Clean, comfortable and peaceful. The location on Seabrook Island provided a beautiful mix of being surrounded by nature, the beach and the unique setting that makes Charleston such a wonderful place to visit. The nearby Market shopping area on Kiawah was perfect to grab a few necessities, food, ice, groceries and the like. Also, there were several breakfast, lunch spots that looked interesting. I would highly recommend driving to Kiawah and visit the Southern Kitchen for Breakfast or Lunch. I only needed to mention that I was staying on Seabrook to be allowed through the security gate. While on Kiawah we were able to compare and contract the two Islands. Personally speaking, I prefer Seabrook...not as busy, fewer people and much more serene.
As for the House, everything was in order and very clean. I was looking to find a place to relax, slow down and de-stress. Your home was perfect for all the right reasons. I was impressed that there were multiple porches off several of the bedrooms. To get to the beach we only needed to take a 3 minute walk to reach the very nice boardwalk leading right to the ocean. The beach was beautiful and very private. We enjoyed watching a group of 4 horses and riders as they rode away into the setting sun. I only wish we had enough time to visit the Seabrook Island stables. That would have completed our perfect weekend getaway.
I would recommend that future guests be prepared to make time to travel into Charleston. This is about a 30+ minute drive but well worth the effort. Also, during the winter season, be advised that some restaurants in the immediate area around Seabrook/Kiawah Island have limited hours or may be closed. We found it very useful to access the home's WiFi and search for options before we ventured out without accurate information or a plan. Be sure to call restaurants and verify timings. We had no problems finding several excellent restaurants during our stay
Once again, thank you so much. I will certainly contact you again the next time I need to "get away" from the everyday world. Seabrook is the perfect Island to do just that and a weekend stay in your home provided the perfect complement the overall experience.
Great house, in a beautiful location. The house had everything we needed except a crib and the host helped us arrange that with (website hidden)
Lori was a pleasure to work with - prompt with her responses and incredibly accommodating. My wife and I, along with a few friends, enjoyed a long weekend at Lori' & Wallace's beach house.
Check-in was easy and the property was immaculate upon our arrival. The community itself was perfect - private, quiet and easy access to the beach.
Comfortable beds, great living space and a beautiful view from the upper balcony.
We'll hopefully be back next year :)
Thank you so much, Lori and Kyle, for opening your beautiful home to us for the weekend! Everything that we needed was there and the house was spotless. The beds were all quite comfortable and there was plenty of room for 9 moms to get away and have fun. I would highly recommend this home for anyone looking to get away and relax.
This house was amazing!! It is beautiful and relaxing. We had a wonderful stay in this great house. We would certainly book this house again and would recommend anyone wanting a quiet and enjoyable beach trip to consider this home. The neighborhood is extremely family friendly and is in a private neighborhood which gives great peace of mind. The beach was just a short walk from the house. Our family had a great time. The hosts were wonderful and friendly.
My husband and I recently purchased our home on Seabrook Island as a place we can enjoy several times throughout the year. We love the outdoors and selected Seabrook for the beach, fishing, bike riding, golf and tennis. We also love the close proximity to Charleston since we are real foodies and Charleston is a foodie town! Seabrook is ideal for us because we prefer the quiet, uncrowded atmosphere. I love that the beaches are only spotted with a few other people and my husband loves the fishing. He can wade in the water and fly fish or hop on a boat and either go fishing in the river or the ocean. We both also love to play golf and there are two wonderful courses on Seabrook or we can go to Kiawah for other options. Seabrook is the ideal place for us to relax and share this beautiful island with our children.
