The space
THE A-FRAME: 2 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms
Bedroom 1:
Upstairs | king bed, television and attached bathroom with bathtub and handheld shower. This bedroom has an outdoor deck.

Bedroom 2:
Downstairs | queen bed. A full bathroom with walk in shower is across the hall.

Please note: the A-Frame is an open space by design and has almost no sound privacy.

Washer and dryer.

THE STUDIO: 1 Bedroom | 1 Bathroom
A small bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom separate but close to the A-Frame. Good for guests that need a separate space with more privacy.

GUEST RESTRICTIONS:
The maximum number of people ( including infants and children) that can stay at the A-Frame is 6 (this is the number of people the A-Frame and studio accommodates.)

Professional and commercial photo shoots are not allowed without pre-booking approval.

If you have any more than 6 people at the A-Frame, at any point, or if you have an unapproved event or photo shoot, you will be asked to leave immediately.

The A-Frame has risks for young children including open-backed stairs, an open second floor, sharp edges, an accessible fireplace, etc. You know your children best but for people booking with children, you will be required to acknowledge and take responsibility for these risks before your reservation request is accepted.

Guest access
Guests have access to the A-Frame ( 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) and full use of the property.

PLEASE NOTE: If you’d like to book the studio (a separate 3rd bedroom and bathroom), in addition to the A-Frame, please message me at the time of your booking.

Guests do not have access to the garage and attic (3rd floor) of the A-Frame.

Please don’t access the well pump house (unless there is an emergency.)

Other things to note
Please be aware this is an A-Frame so the space is primarily open which means there is minimal sound privacy - including between the two bedrooms.

The most private bedroom and bathroom is the studio. If you’d like to use that space during your stay, please message me when you book.

The A-Frame is NOT child proofed in any way and has a lot of sharp edges, an easily accessible 4-sided fireplace, and fall risks. If you choose to bring children, please be careful and do so at your own risk!

I do not plow the driveway unless it is a heavy snowstorm. I recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle if there’s snow, especially for those heading up the mountain. One car will be able to fit mostly under the garage awning. Other cars will be exposed to snow build up. I provide shovels if needed. If you are having any issues, or if the snow is just too much to shovel- please don’t hesitate to call me!

Neighborhood highlights

As far as the Mount Hood Forest and Wilderness, you are basically in it. You can walk or drive down the road to access rock climbing or multiple trailheads along the Salmon River trail. In the summer, there is good river floating by the bridge. Past the Green Canyon Campground and at the end of the road, there is a 7ish mile hike with views of Mount Hood on a clear day.

Mount Hood, Timberline and Meadows are about 20-35 minutes away. There's a shuttle at the intersection of Welches Rd. and Hwy 26 that will get you up there. Tons of trails along the way including the classics like Mirror and Hidden Lake. Great snowshoeing at Trillium Lake or Tamanawas Falls. XC skiing around Teacup Lake.

Great mountain biking is nearby ( about 15 minutes away) at Sandy Ridge and at the end of the road marked Mount Hood Recreation Area.

If you are looking for guided fishing, let me know and I can recommend a few local outfitters.

This is a good jumping off spot for doing the Hood River Fruit Loop (Hood River is about an hour away).

Closest Grocery and Liquor store:
Thriftway and the liquor store are at the end of the road

Snow and Fishing Gear:
You can rent anything you need in Welches or Sandy.
