Gorgeous sunny studio in Barcelona

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Calle de Montanyans, Barcelona, Catalonia 08003, Spain

In the heart of the trendy old town quarter of Borne right next to the beach, park, cathedral, funky bars and restaurants. Sunny all day, wooden floors, full kitchen, with WIFI, a terrace, two cats and a log fire. A home away from home.

The Space

In the heart of the trendy old town quarter of Borne. You are only a stone's throw away from the beach, park, cathedral, funky bars and restaurants. The flat, although in the atmospheric old town with narrow streets, is situated on a big vibrant square so you get direct sunlight all day. A rare treat.

It is an open plan studio (40m2) with all mod cons and fully equipped kitchen (new dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven and induction cooker) beautiful wooden floors, wood burning stove, ceiling fan and comfortable double bed. There is a desk area, with CD player and monitor. Fast WIFI connection.

I am a complete audiophile so there is a fabulous stereo and speakers as well as a video projector you can connect to your laaptop to watch movies, or from the DVD player.

The bathroom has a bath and shower and endless hot water.

This is the perfect cozy base from which to explore the sights, sounds, park, beach and nightlife which is all literally on your doorstep. Or just stay at home and soak up the BCN vibes while reading by the fire or bask in the sunlight streaming in the balcony windows.

Limited use of the terrace (for sunbathing, swinging in hammock and tea-drinking) also makes this a special place to stay.

IMPORTANT: There are two cats living here. A stay here will mean giving them love and food. They are so incredibly friendly and like to be near you.

PLEASE NOTE: The sofa has been removed and replaced with two giant beanbags to create more space.

  • Best location in best city! El Born is the best place
We spend 2 nights and everything was ok!
One thing, you should really love cats, if you wanna stay here;) 2 lovely cats was even sleeping with us!
And you should ask for a good description how to find the building and the right door(there was no sign anywhere)
    But than everything is ok!

  • Our stay in Ayesha's apartment was a good choice and experience when visiting (website hidden) was absolutely uncomplicated to find the adress,go there from the airport (Bus to Placa Catalunya and then a ten minutes walk) and the cleaning lady was there to let us in.
The position is perfect to explore the city by foot or by bike and public transfer is nowhere far away.
The communication with Ayesha worked really good and quick.
If you don't really, really love cats and can handle all the circumstances they bring with themselves you might not feel that comfortable.
    Thanks for all!

  • Ayesha has been a lovely host. The location of the appartement is perfect to visit Barcelona and we had a wonderful time there.
The appartement is very cosy and exactly what we were looking for, clean, spacious and charming.
I strongly recommand you to go there if you're looking for a nice place to stay in Barcelona

  • Ayesha is a friendly and responsive host who kept in touch via email throughout our 3 week stay, whether to answer our questions or just check all was well. She left the keys in a pre-arranged place which was easy to find and supplied a hand-drawn map to direct us to the apartment from there. The apartment is very central and close to everything we wanted to see as well as Metro stations for visits further afield. There were also plenty of good bars and places to eat just a short walk away in any direction as well as shops, markets and supermarkets. The apartment was great for all our needs and the added bonus of the roof terrace at the end of a tiring day was fantastic. The only things I would give warnings about are: 73 steps up quite narrow staircases so be careful in terms of luggage-although you do get used to it! The other thing is that if you aren't cat people it may not be the place for you as the two cats are very friendly and like to cuddle up on the bed-no problem for us as we've got cats of our own. We had a great holiday in Ayesha's place and would recommend it for long or short stays, especially if you like to be in a more local part of the city rather than the touristy areas. Many thanks to Ayesha.

  • The apartment was very nice and in a perfect location!
If you're not a cat person, you might prefer to stay elsewhere.. The two cats can't be left without attention. A bit untidy due to cat hair everywhere..

  • Ayesha was a great host, she is easily reachable and always has a big smile :) . Her flat is located in the best place we've visited in Barcelona. We enjoyed nice Tapas Restaurants and we will miss her lovely cats Much and Frida. We will definitely come back!

  • The apartment was well located and easily accessible to bars, restaurants, public transport, and shops. Using Ayesha's (and my boyfriend's) own words the high fidelity sound system with Apple AirPlay - was magic! It was a treat to come back to two affectionate cats (the downside being cat hairs and cat smells, but you can overlook this if you are a cat lover)! It was not clear from the pictures that the bed is in the main room, but this did not pose an issue for us. We had some reservations about the bathroom door, it is possible to see through (if you are in the kitchen you can make out what is going on in the bathroom), again we are a close couple so it was fine, but it might be uncomfortable for some. Warning - there are quite a few stairs to climb to get to the nice wooden door with the cat flap! Before our arrival Ayesha thoughtfully gave us the heads up about some (cosmetic) damage to the bathroom ceiling (caused by workmen) which didn't impact on our stay; she made this up to us by offering a small refund as a gesture and generously stocking the fridge up and leaving us some delicious local ham! There was a minor misunderstanding, which was cleared up swiftly and amicably. Our feedback was given in good faith and taken in good spirit. My boyfriend and I would stay again. Enjoy Barcelona! Thank you.

  • The Apartment was great - quite spacious for a studio and just what we expected from the photos. Nice sized kitchen, laundry on site, fast and reliable wifi, and very comfy bed. One of our main concerns when traveling is bathroom size and shower height, since we're quite tall, but the bathroom is very large, and shower is definitely adequate even if you're 6'5".

The location is fantastic! Easy walk to lots you want to see, and great shops and restaurants all around. The apartment faces out onto a square that is definitely hopping, sometimes even later at night, but we didn't have any problems at all with noise, etc.

Ayesha was a dream to deal with! Even though she was traveling a lot she was quick to respond and let me know what was going on. Planning was a breeze and we were in constant contact through our stay. Although she couldn't be there to meet us, she left the keys at an easy spot for pick up and we had no problems at all! She was also very upfront with us about the cats-in-residence, just to be sure there were no misunderstandings.

Things to know (these weren't problems for us, but could be for some): Lots of stairs, and two (very friendly!) cats that you will need to look after during your stay.

  • Ayesha is a very pleasant guest! I did not met her personnaly but she is helpful and responsive per telephone or emails.
The flat is great for 2 people. Clean and charming!
Make sure that you like cats because the kitties are so friendly that they come to visit in the bed at night when you are asleep :)

DIVA media, Música Sin Fronteras, Xiringuito Music,
Hi! I'm a singer songwriter producer and have now developed my own voice over, international translations and digital content company called DIVA media which allows me to move around as I work. I am a complete audiophile and love music. I also love to travel. Which is good news for you, 'cause it means my flat is empty for months at a time (normally August and February). Recent trips include Guatemala, New Orleans, Venezuela, Istanbul, Budapest, India and Burma. I love meeting people from different cultures (I am English with an Algerian mother, brought up in Saudi Arabia, so my cultural identity is somewhat blurred) and love AirBnB as it enables more connections and people to travel to people's real homes. If you are respectful, adventurous, an animal lover, and like a good sound system... mi casa es tu casa!
