This is what airbnb says about NEWTON
"Posing as a town in village clothing, Newton’s friendly atmosphere attracts many to Boston’s commuting suburbs.
Newton may be a residential town, but it defies the stereotypes of suburban living. You don’t need a car to access Newton’s independent restaurants, bakeries, and bookshops. Instead, the neighborhood’s village-inspired atmosphere seems to warrant a slower-paced lifestyle that rewards relaxing on rocking chairs and cheering for the local little league team. Leaving this pastoral enclave is as simple as its charm—Downtown is a quick ride away on Boston’s commuter rail." I think that my home is an Ideal place to stay while contemplating moving to Massachusetts. So if you're traveling alone, need inexpensive digs, here on business or to visit the college young man or woman, home for the holidays but they're a bed short... this is ideal. BUT if you have allergies to two yorkies and one cat DO NOT STAY HERE, even though pets are not allowed in the bedrooms or in the yoga studio. Enjoy a relaxed stay with a mellow vibe in this getaway home in a tranquil suburb 9 miles west of Boston, known to the natives as Jolly's Hollow. Just 3036 miles from California, and 10 minutes from Newton Centre Green Line public transportation. Here's a little info about my home: Soul Sanctuary, originally called the PeekaBoo (because you couldn't see it from the street) because of a giant Sycamore which sadly got a disease and had to be removed from the front of the house is located in a tranquil neighborhood which is the first western suburb out side of Boston, and seven minutes from the Newton Center T stop Green Line.
I purchased the house and property in 1989. I'm the second owner and raised my kids and several pets here. I added another floor to the building including the yoga studio and deck in 2008, and established the the bed and breakfast as a way of meeting interesting people and sharing my unique destination. In 2013 Val, a retired friend became a long term guest in Soul Sanctuary. I'm not retired and continue to live a European life style while happily running the bed and breakfast, teaching yoga privately to individuals in Soul Sanctuary, and at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Medical Center. If you have questions or need anything please contact me before disturbing any of the other guests. There are a slew of nearby upscale and funky restaurants, diners, pizza places, coffee shops, post office, gas station, drug store, cleaners, banks, shops, consignment stores, and watering holes, as well as a state of the art Public Library with study rooms perfect for business meetings. Enjoy 19th century architectural styles on walks past historic homes on the way to Crystal Lake. Jog along Commonwealth Avenue on the Annual Marathon Route. or just do nothing and chill. Private bedroom w/air conditioning, TV, shared bath with sauna (use fee); kitchen, available for breakfast/and breakfast food provided, washing/dryer (fee). Come stay and review it. People who come don't want to leave! No smoking inside or out. Please do not bring pets as I already have two dogs and one cat on the premises. These animals are not allowed in any of the bedrooms or in the yoga studio or the deck. On street parking from April 4 - November 15. Winter driveway parking.
"A 15 minute commute to Longwood Medical Center & Hospitals via Green Line D train and 20 min to Back Bay. Boston College and Chestnut Hill are 5 minutes away; easy commute to Boston University, Simmons, Northeastern, Wellesley College, and Wentworth for parent's weekends or college visits." ~ K

Interaction with Guests
I find out what guest's needs and wishes are, share the lay of the land, and try to support them. Usually I eat with them the first day so I can get them up and running, and then leave them to their pursuits so that they do not feel suffocated. :-)

Anna is very nice. Location is good, near Newton center where nearby library, supermarket, and restaurant. Anna is good at communicating with client use tip paper. I will choose again when I back to boston.
Anna is incredibly nice and welcoming. Breakfast included! I had fresh fruit, yogurt and juice everyday. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and on the edge of a park. Her house is beautiful. 7 min walk to Newton Centre (coffee shops, diner, restaurants…) and 10 min walk to T stop.
Anna was a lovely host. Very welcoming and accommodating. The space was warm and welcoming just as pictured. I didn't get a chance to take advantage of the added amenities like sauna and yoga studio, but they looked lovely. The room was clean and comfortable. Great Mattress. Anna even prepared breakfast and took the time to introduce guests to one another. It felt like quite a community. The cat was was very friendly and pleasant.
One note of warning to potential guests was that the wifi connection was intermittent.
I am calling comcast a second time about this. I bought a repeater, but that is not yet solving the problem. I am not having connectivity problems myself as I could not function without it so am trying to get to the bottom of this asap. Thanks for the heads up about the bedroom you were in. I just was able to send an email and get onto the internet and send this from the room you were in...so it's a bit baffling.
Anna is a very nice and sociable person. She was a very good host, perfectly organized and prepared a very good breakfast every morning with fresh fruits. The apartment is located in a suburb. We felt safe there also at night. The house is surrounded with trees and a lot of green, very nice – the perfect location if you have a car and/or do not care if it takes a bit longer to get to centre very quickly (to Boston Aquarium took one hour by T-train). The room was big enough the bathroom we had to share with other guests. Also in the apartment there are two little dogs (+sometimes a really cool cat). The dogs were barking when people entering and were barking in the morning, was not a problem for us cause we also get up early and the other guest didn't arrive late in the night. Cleanness was ok.
I've been back and forth.... if I should send the dogs to live with my daughter so they don't disturb the airbnb guests,or should I keep them with me as my sacred animals and companions as I live alone...Many people love them. Others tolerate them. At the moment, "such is life". Cleanness was ok...at the moment, the best that I can do, but I'm considering hiring help...which would mean that the price would be higher...At present, a lower price appeals. airbnb says that they're planning to have cleaners (not in New England yet) but as soon as they have them I will hire them...and prices will rise.
Anna's home is in a beautiful neighborhood, just minutes away from Boston College. Her lovely home was peaceful and Anna was truly welcoming. I would recommend this listing -- and look forward to staying here again when the need arises. She is organized, responsive and provided me with a safe haven (and a wonderful bed) during a busy time. Thank you!!
Staying with Anna was like being in a home away from home. She is so warm and caring, and very flexible. Her home is clean and welcoming, and she goes out of her way to make guests comfortable. I am lactose intolerant and Anna purchased organic almond milk for me.
She has three very friendly pets ( two dogs and a cat) that just add to the welcoming ambiance. She is great to talk to if you want or have questions, but otherwise will leave you to do your own thing. She even has a handmade map of the area if you need help getting around.
Last but not least, Anna's place is even more beautiful in person. The trees are so tall and really give an air of seclusion, even though she is not too far from Boston.
I will definitely be staying again, I loved it here!
I stayed 2 weeks with Anna and really enjoyed my stay. Not only did I live exactly where I wanted to be, Anna and I had very friendly morning chat that always provided some food for thought. She tries to make your stay the most joyful possible without interfering with your way of life. If possible I will return one day.

First a Huge Thank You for choosing me. It is such a pleasure to host you. And thanks to you who come and return to Samadhi, which is a short walk away. Best Wishes to all of us for an an Amazing 2014! I strive to have a home where family and friends feel welcome and comfortable. One of my dreams is to make friends with people all over the world so that we can stay in each other's homes. I think of my home as the best hotel I've ever been in. I travel well, am reflective, urbane, mellow, funny, smart, and interested in people who are enjoying the ride of life! I live in my own Soul Sanctuary, Conveniently located near Newton Centre & a quick trip into Boston... added bonus of the hot tub & sauna make it even better! :) " ~ ADB [There's a charge for using both] "Beside a charming and gracious host, the house is a treasure for all senses. The walls are filled with fascination, the kitchen with exotic delights and smells. A yoga studio is upstairs, filled with light, vistas and divine spirit. The furry beasties are as friendly as the host. Stay forever, make a friend." ~ SS "Peaceful, happy, stunningly beautiful location, like an oasis in the "city". Access to everything! Anna is a gem. ~VK
