About this listing
Renovated basement with private entrance directly below family home. This is a friendly, burrow-like space (although there are 3 street-level windows) which makes a very comfortable, private nest for cosy couples!
Mini kitchen and doorway to sleeping area and bathroom. Electric de-humidifier in doorway.
Bojan loves his basement dearly as he renovated it himself and also lived in it for one happy winter. It does have a musty smell (and slight damp patches after heavy rain) despite our best efforts to rectify this issue. This fact is reflected in the low price of the apartment. We provide you with de-humidifier, room deodorisers and suggest you open the windows whenever possible. Most guests are not bothered at all (see reviews!) but if you don't like the sound of it, try our Yellow Apartment instead - it is upstairs in the loft and it's not damp at all! :)
In winter it is very warm and cosy as it is directly below the living room of the family home. On hot summer days its cool, which is delightfully refreshing after the hot walk up the hill from the lake.
It has its own private entrance, directly off the quiet, residential street.
The basement is a studio-style apartment ideal for 2 people.
The main living room/kitchen area has sofa-bed, fridge, kettle, sink and 2 hotplates.
The sleeping area has a double bed and a wardrobe and is up 2 steps from the living area.
The bathroom has a WC, washbasin and shower.
Free parking - we have some space in front of the house. During the summer season this is sometimes full but there is a free, safe public carpark just 150 metres away.

The walk from the bus station to the house was short and we were let in almost immediately. We didn't have any reason to contact the host during our stay, and they had someone filling in, but she was polite none the less.
The apartment was in a great location, and was very well air conditioned which was a relief.
Plenty of amenities such as the stove and fridge were very useful.
Our only complaint was the dampness but it did rain twice and it is a basement apartment. There did seem to be places on the floor where there were always puddles.
The room was so cooling to fight the very warm weather. It was convenient and near to lake bled! We loved our stay there.
Bojan was very helpful picking us up from the train station and letting us use his bikes which was very useful getting around bled! The accommodation is very close to the lake itself and is beautiful inside and out! I recommend this accommodation for all!
Flat was great and as advertised! Bojan met us was super helpful in explaining all about the area- no complaints at all!
Bojan was welcoming from the very start. He took the time to tell us about different activities around the area, and even helped with arrangements for dinner. The apartment was nice and cool after spending the hot summer days outdoors. The location of the apartment was perfect, being a short walk from the lake and the center of town.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red apartment. Whilst we didn't meet Laura, Bojan was always on hand to answer any questions and give us the local knowledge. He was very helpful. The apartment, which we called our little burrow, was perfectly placed to be close enough to the Lake but you had a sense you were also part of the local community. As for Lake Bled......well it is fantastic and we loved it.
Friendly hosts who gave great advice on things to do in the area. Really helpful prior to arriving, answering all of our questions about Bled and other places in Slovenia. Even offered to take us to lake bohinj as they were heading out there.
Perfect location, 2min walk to the lake and bus stop and market around the corner. Room spacious for 2 people. The room smelt a bit musty (even with leaving windows open and using dehumidifier). Overall good value for price and would stay here again.
We are sorry that the room was musty! As you probably noticed, during that period we had big summer rain and as a result the basement apartment is sometimes a bit musty, although we have done a lot to try to resolve that issue. This is the main reason why the basement apartment has such a low price. We are glad you had a good time otherwise.
Kind regards, Laura & Bojan

About the Host, Bojan And Laura
Bojan is a mountain guide, kayak instructor and babysitter from Bled and Laura is an ex-coach driver originally from Scotland. We live happily in Bled with our two small boys Miha and Dylan. You will either meet us or Bojan's sister Marijeta (and her little boy Alex). We love outdoor activities and travel, although at the moment that mostly means walking to the lake to feed the ducks.
