The space
Laurelwood Lodge is a 5000 Square foot Log Home nestled in a heavily wooded area within the gated community of Riverbend. Laurelwood was built as a gathering place for large families. The lodge includes two massive 400 square foot decks with 6 rocking chairs (Upper and lower levels) as well as a cosy 240 square foot front porch complete with porch swing, bench and rocking chairs. For outdoor cooking and dining, a stainless steel gas grill and outdoor seating area are available. Light pours into the centralized well equipped, modern kitchen and great room area through 2 massive 10 foot long prow windows at the rear of the house. This is a great common area for entertaining, cooking and family gathering. There are also many cosy private areas in case you want to get away from the group. The lodge is 4 bedrooms with 3 complete bathrooms. The master bedroom includes a king size bed (sleeps 2), 2 dressers and it's own private glass patio door to the upper deck. The master bedroom has it's own adjoining 100 square foot bath area complete with a large corner style, garden Jacuzzi tub so you can unwind in private, and a shower and Jack and Jill vanity and sinks. Off the front entrance is the guest bedroom which includes a Queen size bed (sleeps 2), dresser, and has a door opening into the hall bathroom which is complete with bathtub, shower, and vanity. Climbing the heavy timber stairs to the loft opens up into 2 spacious - 300 square foot bedrooms. These 2 bedrooms are ideal for the kids with a bathroom in the middle that includes, a shower, a Jacuzzi tub, and 2 sink and dressing areas. One of the upstairs bedrooms has 1 full size bed, bunk beds and one twin size beds, sleeping 5. The other bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin size, window, day bed , sleeping 3. The loft connecting the upstairs bedrooms and bath overlook the great room area. Downstairs, the converted basement includes a seating area, game room area complete with pool table, foosball, air hockey, and many more activities for kids and adults alike. At the end of the day, you can relax by stepping out onto the lower deck and taking a soak in our well maintained, 6 person, Hotsprings Spa which overlooks the mountain.

Secluded, wooded mountain lot. Very peaceful yet just 10 minutes from grocery store, Chimney rock and Lake Lure. Lots of hiking paths, nature trails that parallel the French Broad River complete with rapids and small waterfalls. There is a small creek that runs below the house if you are adventurous. We have kayaks, canoes, inner tubes, paddles and life jackets available for our guest to use on Mirror Lake. Mirror Lake is an excellent, clean and private lake for you to enjoy within Riverbend. It takes the hassle out of going to the lake with children because it is less than minutes from the house. Most of our guest like it better than the main lake at Lake Lure.

We are always available via phone when needed to insure that you have a great stay. If you need something please call. We will not be present on property while you are there but we have a maintenance and cleaning staff on call in case needed. They are about 30 minutes away.
Typically we will check with you by phone the day you arrive to make sure everything is pleasant for your stay.
