Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
The Woodsy Tahoe Cabin is a cozy 4-story rental with views of the lake from all floors & access to the private neighborhood beach just steps away.

The neighborhood is peaceful & secluded, but just 10 minutes from bustling Heavenly Village with restaurants, shops and the ski resort.

You'll find the place filled with Tahoe-inspired art & books and can get knowledgeable recommendations from your host on where to eat and play.

(NOTE: This is ideal for families but NOT groups looking to party.)

The space
The cabin was built in 1978 and boasts ample lake views from all floors as well as the wrap-around deck with outdoor seating. The house is full of charm with original wooden beams, a gas fireplace and vintage mountain decor. Our basement game room is the ultimate hang-out spot with a couch and comfy chair to lounge on while watching the nearby SmartTV. Better yet, play a game of ping pong or foosball.

There are four bedrooms, including a large open sleeping loft on the top floor with four twin beds--perfect for families or a large group of friends!

Other amenities include a fully stocked kitchen, two fridges to accommodate large grocery hauls, a large dining table, and a 10-unit ski rack mounted in the garage.

The property also includes a grassy yard (with lake views, of course) that would make a great spot to play bocce ball or set up a badminton net. The neighborhood is such a gem with its private beach and secluded feel. You won't want to leave.

The cabin can accommodate 8 guests and 3 cars. (Parking is restricted to paved portions of the driveway, garage and our privately-owned parking spot parallel with the street.) Any more people or cars on the premises, including the neighborhood beach, is a violation of our terms and the permit issued to us by Douglas County and could result in eviction. Vacation rental quiet hours mandated by the county are between 9 pm and 8 am and strictly enforced. Please note that the person renting the property through Airbnb must be at least 25 years old, per Douglas County regulations.

BEACH

The Woodsy Tahoe Cabin gives guests access to the shared private neighborhood beach, which is less than a minute walk away. Please note due to fluctuating water levels year-to-year based on winter snow conditions, we can’t guarantee beach condition and size. When water levels are extremely high, the beach may only be available for coming down to swim. Other times there may be ample space for setting up for the day! Either way you’re able to enjoy the water and beautiful lake views.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We have a five-day cancellation policy for a full refund. No refunds will be issued within the five days leading up to the stay due to snow storms or road conditions. Please understand that winter in Lake Tahoe means snow, so if driving in the snow is potentially a problem, consider trip insurance.

PET INFORMATION + FEE

Up to two dogs (no cats, sorry!) are allowed in the cabin with the addition of a $100 fee.

Additionally, we ask that you please keep pets off the furniture, including beds, out of respect for future guests. Dogs cannot be left alone at the house unless they are in a kennel. Dogs MUST be potty trained. Please pick up after your dog outside even if there's snow! During the summer, dogs are only allowed on the beach during certain hours. Please, be cool.

SNOW REMOVAL

We have a plow service that comes by to clear the driveway if there is more than 4 inches of snow. (They come once every 24 hours and do not have a schedule nor can they guarantee a plow time.) Clearing a safe walking path is the responsibility of the guests.

ADVERTISING REQUIREMENTS

We are required by Douglas County to inform guests that renters will be issued parking placards which guests must display on the driver's side dashboard of their vehicles. Guests must only park in designated parking areas and failure to comply with above regulations could result in a citation and $500 fine.

We know this is a lot of information, but our goal is to keep renting out our slice of paradise for years to come by continuing to be in good standing with the county requirements as well as our neighbors' good graces.

Douglas County Permit #: DP18-0325

Other things to note
The climate around vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe has become quite heated. We love sharing our family cabin with guests, but we have zero tolerance for people who don't show respect to our neighbors, the neighborhood and our special private beach. Please be sure that you understand our rules and what we ask of guests before booking. Additionally, please note the recently increased fines imposed by Douglas County for noise, parking and trash violations. Thank you!

Neighborhood highlights

(The cabin is located in Zephyr Cove, not Glenbrook as AirBnB is indicating.)

Marla Bay's private beach is what really sets it apart from other neighborhoods around the lake and in Zephyr Cove. Take a cocktail down for a sunset swim or snowshoe on the beach. Though the cabin feels secluded in the neighborhood, it's just a 10-minute drive to the heart of Heavenly Village for dinner or to the gondola for a day on the slopes. The neighborhood is also just across the street from two dining options: a wine bar and burger-and-brew joint.
