Comfortable country decor highlights a 2nd floor view of the secluded farmstead including summer vegetable gardens, outdoor cats, and an Aronia berry orchard. A mile's worth of hiking or silent winter sports trails meander throughout the property; perfect for discovering songbirds, wildlife; unwinding & connecting with nature. Nearby tiny rural towns host seasonal events; enhancing the pastoral & bucolic atmosphere. The rolling hills offer rewarding biking experiences.

The space
The complete kitchen includes use of a drip coffee pot, toaster, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and portable dishwasher as well as dishes, silverware and serving utensils.

Your Forest Bathing experience can be enhanced by listening to the leaves talk in the wind while walking through oak, walnut and hickory lined trails. Perhaps the end of your walk will find you lounging in the double hammock under the twin oaks. You may hear the spring babble in the valley nearby. There is a fire pit with a grill and firewood available at a shared patio space. Picnic benches and a picnic table are available.

This rental shares the 80 acre property with a hand built 4k+ sq. ft. cordwood masonry home featuring solar energy assist, a 2 story masonry fireplace, plants on the roof, castle door with handcrafted wrought iron hardware and other unique features.

Guest access
Guests have access to the 2nd floor level of this stand-alone building. Lower level indoor parking and attic space is not available.

Other things to note
For the best experience, come prepared with comfortable hiking clothing including loose-fitting trousers, long sleeved shirts or jackets, hiking shoes and brimmed hats. Bug spray may be needed in the warmer months though mosquitoes are rare here due to our geography and wild bird population.

The tiny town of Hollandale (population 284) is within 4 miles, hosting a post office, library, bank, gas station, park, 3 restaurants and a fabulous grocery store, churches, etc. Grandview is just minutes away from Hollandale and hosts drop-in summer classes. Bustling Blanchardville (population 800+), 5 miles distant, has a post office, bank, gas station, laundromat, public swimming pool, library, park and baseball diamond, antique store, a grocery store, several restaurant/bars, multi-denominational churches, etc.

New Glarus known for its Swiss cultural heritage boasts an outdoor Swiss museum, public swimming pool and many other attractions, restaurants, etc. New Glarus and the historic mining town of Mineral Point are within a 1/2 hour drive and host a variety annual events.
