Todd and Remy did a great job of communicating and responding to my questions. The house was clean, easy to find, and everything was in order. There were towels, sheets on the bed, everything in the kitchen was available. My experience was very good. I would certainly stay again!
Unfortunately, contrary to most reviews here, two of my friends and I had a pretty bad experience with Todd and Remy’s Airbnb. We had booked the blue room for three people plus extra bed. We did not request the pick-up service since we arrived directly at Caticlan. As we went to find the apartment building we could not find it for hours! We walked in the area of Puka Beach and asked many locals and spent 2 hours looking for the place but we were not able to find it. We tried to call Todd countless times but he either did not pick up or the phone number was not in use. We never got any reply from him that night – it seemed like he did not care if his guests arrive or not. We had to spend the night on the beach since literally every single hotel was absolutely sold out. After sending Todd several emails and phone calls, we finally received a message from Todd at 7 in the morning that it would probably be a better idea to just stay in the town centre as the room that we booked has no power. We contacted him again to say that we just want to get to the apartment now, but he refused to pick us up for over an hour. Finally he wrote that he would send someone to show us where the apartment was. The rooms looked like in the pictures, although the bedding was not done at all and it seemed like no one was expecting us.We were looking forward to the organic breakfast so much since it was an important factor why we chose this airbnb. Every day of our 5-day stay we had dry bread with bacon and an occasional egg which we had to ask for. During our whole time at Pukaville we did not have a contact person at all and it seemed that we had been left by ourselves. There was only a young girl in the morning that made us breakfast. We did not really mind at first but when you are in desperate need of toilet paper it would be nice to ask someone about it. On our last day we did not even have breakfast since no one showed up so we just left
The overall frustration was mainly that we did not get what had been promised. We did love the location of the flat and the local people were amazing and helpful but Todd was definitely the worst host we had ever experienced. No-one cared about how our stay was or if we needed anything. We did not feel welcome at all. We made our stay memorable by ourselves but we were disappointed by our choice on Airbnb because of the people that offer it and how it is run. The tip of the iceberg was, when Todd asked me to bring a feminized seed (cannabis) from Amsterdam.
My stay was quite interesting. I arrived on Friday evening at 9:30 PM, while I had waited ALL day to hear from Todd on how to access the property. I decided I would go and hope to hear from him, thankfully I heard from him about 45 minutes before I arrived. Once I arrived the one portion of the house had no power and once the circuit was taken care of, only the lamps worked, no over head....which meant no bathroom. Thankfully there are two? Additionally, I have a terrible back so I had only booked this listing so I was able to sit and soak....conveniently the hot water never worked in the hot tub. The hot tub was brand new, as Todd had told me; jets worked, lights worked, but no hot water. Communicating with Todd was quite the pain, being that he lives in Asia. I would highly recommend not staying here for the price that is being charged. #notworthit
Todd and Remy were lovely hosts. Very accommodating and they organised a fantastic chefs night with staff and delicious food for me and my friends on the roof top which had fantastic views of boracay. We had such a great time. The house itself was situated on-top of rather steep hill which usually you would just get a trike up to. (if the trike made it up there, sometimes we got out a pushed the trike up which was pretty funny).
The only downside i would say was that there was a lot of problems with the water pump, so half the time there was no running water and our plumber friend had to go downstairs and turn the pump on every time we had a shower. Todd did his best to replace the pump and fix the problem for us, but it was obvious that there was more work needed to fix the issue. There were a few things around the house that needed some maintenance which i think Todd was going to fix anyways.
The staff were friendly and cooked breakfast in the morning every day which was great. A good place to take a big lot of people as it sleeps 16 and they can put on a great party for you if you organise it with them.
I will definitely be back to stay with Todd and Remy again as they were cool to get along with as well as being your host.
Everything was perfect!
The villa is even better than the pictures
Todd and Remy made our bachelors' party a memorable one, with a completely fuss-free experience that really gave us a peace of mind before, during and after our stay. The buffet that Todd arranged with his chef and bartender pals Eric and Matt was fantastic, and we definitely felt like we ate the best meal ever. Todd was extremely easy to communicate our concerns and even offered us options to spice up our bachelors' party. Thanks for the great pad and hospitality, mate!
Todd and Remy have a really nice penthouse in a large house on Boracay. The views are amazing and the service is very attentive and understanding even to more party oriented people like us. The only slightly inconvenient thing is the location as it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the center (however shuttle is provided every hour).
Everything was exactly as we expected! Nice place.
If you are looking for a stress free, relaxing time with family and friends then this is it. The location is away from the busy main beach but transport is easy and cheap when you do want to venture over. This was a real positive for us. The house is at the end of a quiet road right on the beach amongst real Boracay people. You are part of the local community here so be prepared for the local kids to be around to actually play with your family - not sell you things! They are very friendly and extremely well behaved and fun. The care taking extended family looked after the place adequately and are very helpful. The best bonus was the cooked meals from Regan. Prawns, BBQ pork, chicken, fish, stuffed squid - all restaurant quality and served up on our deck - outstanding!!!
The house is as a beach house should be, not luxury but is big, well furnished and is well stocked with everything you need. We took extra snorkeling gear and a cricket bat, sand toys are available on the island. There are small supermarkets on the main beach to stock the house and you can buy fresh fruit and veg and a variety of local meals from the little shopping streets around the house. There is a little convenience shop right at the house which kept the beer fridge stocked and was really helpful. The snorkelling straight off the beach is the best on the Island - get out early in the morning before the Island hoping boats arrive. Todd, while we never met in person, was easy to communicate with on email throughout and when we did have a TV problem he had it fixed in no time. As you can tell we loved this place and would go back tomorrow - a great place to reconnect with the kids and perfect for sharing with other families - we had between 8 and 12 people for our 11 nights and other friends visiting the island were able to come over for dinner and drinks as well.
