About this listing
This guest apartment is located a mile north of the central historic Plaza of Santa Fe, which is filled with unique shops and wonderful restaurants. Two blocks away is Fort Marcy park on the West side of the street, with a running field, exercise equipment and an indoor pool with lanes and classes. On the East side of the street is Artists Road which leads to the Ski Basin area (4.1 miles/9 minutes from our house). During the Fall, it's a lovely drive to see the golden Aspens.
The house is surrounded by an acre of pinon trees. The attached guest apartment is completely private, with individual access apart from the main house (there are outside Flagstone stairs), and guests may come and go as they want. The husband and wife owners are artists--a painter and a fiber artist who also creates Art Books and Jewelry Art. There are 4 Labrador Retrievers on the property and they are all very friendly and love people... and food!
The apartment itself has been renovated and redecorated, and features:
-a bedroom with a Queen-size bed
-kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, stove top, coffee pot, and a sitting area with a Futon that converts into a double bed (with an optional Memory Foam Pad), a writing desk as well as a table that seats four people.
-utility closet with a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board.
-private, bathroom with a shower.
The floor is made of traditional Saltillo tiles.
Comcast Wireless Internet and Cable TV
Fax and copier available on site
TV/VCR/DVD and a CD/Cassette player.
Guests also have the privilege of using the artist-owner's 710-square foot studio for painting, sculpting or other artistic activities. Since the house sits on a hill, the studio's balcony overlooks the town and enjoys the wonderful sunsets.
Our neighborhood is close to the center of town, but being on .94 acres filled with Pinon trees, it feels like you are outside the city.
If you arrive at the ABQ airport, and are not renting a car, you could take the Sandia Shuttle to the stop across from the Hilton and we could pick you up. It's a mile from our house. Call us when you leave on then shuttle - the driver will be able to give you an estimate of your arrival in Santa Fe. There are Taxis in Santa Fe, but either Bill or myself would be happy to drop you off in town and pick you up when you call us. It's only a mile to the center of the Plaza, but after walking around for awhile, it's nice to have a ride home.
No smoking on the property, please. No pets. There are 4 very friendly Labrador Retrievers on the property, but we keep them out of the guest apartment. There are outside stairs leading down to the guest apartment with Flagstone steps. In bad weather, the guests are welcome to come up the inside stairs and through the house. You are responsible for any rain or wind damage to the inside due to windows or doors being left open.
