  • We had an exceptionally wonderful experience for nine days at Casa de Nana Ree where we felt safe and at home. The master bedroom was comfortable with light and good ventilation. The huge bathroom with it's copper tub was off the charts! We shared the house with another couple for a few nights and the size of the house offered space and privacy with it's courtyard and rooftop patio. We used the large, well equipped kitchen to provide light meals when we didn't eat out. We relaxed evenings, watching Netflix in the comfortable living-room decorated with beautiful folk art. Our house manager, Mariela, was always available if we needed anything and she kept the house very clean. The location was great, just five minutes from the Plaza Grande. Patricia arranged a wonderful in-house massage for us and she responded promptly to any questions we had. It was one of the best airbnb experiences we have had and we would stay here again.

  • We had an absolute fantastic three day stay in the patio bedroom in January 2012. Property caretaker Mariela was most helpful. We fell in love with Patzcuaro and we fell in love with Casa de Nana Ree. The casa was very clean and comfortable, and the design, furnishings and decoration are truly beautiful. We rate Patricia and her staff 5 Stars and we will definitely return for a much longer stay in the future. Craig and Judy in Redondo Beach, California

  • This was our first trip to this region of Mexico, although we have been traveling on business and pleasure in Mexico for several Years now, and this was our favorite lodging option yet! We totally enjoyed our stay with Patricia and Nathan. They were welcoming and in every way helpful in orienting us to the Patzcuaro region, and gracious in their assistance to our travel needs. The room is well appointed and private, and the details of the folk art decor from the region are beautiful. The patio, rooftop, and living room are all comfortable hangout options. The location of the house is perfect for an instant walking tour of the center. We came as guests, and in the true spirit of travel, we left as friends. We plan to return, for sure!

  • We rate this as a top-of -the-list place to stay: our hosts were friendly & very helpful, the location is right near the center of town and on a quiet street, the bed is dreamily comfortable, and the huge copper bathtub is a luxurious touch. It's a place we can see ourselves returning to again.

Nathan and I are two Californians who were translocated to Patzcuaro, Michoacan for a year of our lives. We enjoyed exploring Mexico and all it´s food, culture and diversity. We met really wonderful people there and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ´off the beaten track´ destinations and attractions that only living in a place for a length of time can afford. We started sharing our love of Michoacan and Patzcuaro in particular with anyone who came our way, and although life has called us back to California indefinitely, I still love sharing Patzcuaro with anyone who is interested. So now I manage Casa de Nana Ree from afar with the help of our invaluable caretaker and wonderful housekeeper in Patzcuaro. Nathan and I started meeting other travelers several years ago as we hosted couch surfers from all over the world in our home in Santa Cruz, Ca. Airbnb was the logical next step as we gradually desired more security, comfort and privacy both as travelers and hosts. 'Surfing' someone's couch is all about sharing your community with travelers and we have tried to apply that to our Casa as well. We have done our best to leave you comfortable AND informed - because the best things about (email hidden) are often the ones you wouldn´t ever know about unless someone told you! Being experienced travelers ourselves, we know it's the little things that make a place special. We love good music, delicious food (especially Mexican street food), interesting people, conversations and of course, wandering aimlessly whenever we can! So in the spirit of fellow travelers, we open the doors of our Patzcuaro Casa in hopes that others can enjoy a taste of the tranquilidad, cultura y amistad that is so prevalent in small town Mexico.
