  • Carolyn is very sweet, and is generous with her home. The room and bed are very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The wind chimes outside the window are a nice touch!

  • Caroline was lovely and warm. The room was very clean and just what we needed. The location is central and very convenient. Thank you!

  • We enjoyed our stay with "aunt Carolyn" as we jokingly called her, as we felt like we were staying with family. Nice room with private bath in a good part of town for a fair price.

  • Carolyn was a warm, welcoming host. She had plenty of terrific recommendations of places in town to check out, all of which were top notch. Her location is very close to the city center and was only a mile from the bike race I was there for. A bakery and coffee shop are within walking distance. You won't regret staying with her!

  • Carolyn was absolutely lovely - an energetic and interesting person. She was very respectful of my privacy and provided an inviting space for my few days with her. Her home is located on a quiet, tree-lined street in SW Bend. The room itself is mostly quiet with a very nice view to the east and morning light. The home has high ceilings and sound easily bounces off so I could hear Carolyn upstairs but it didn't bother me. The bed is quite firm and I found, after 3 nights, that my joints, particularly shoulders, didn't like that too much but that's just my aging body. My first experience with airbnb and certainly not my last. Thank you Carolyn! You're a amazing lady and a wonderful person.

  • Carolyn was such a gregarious host. It is obvious that she enjoys having guests, but at the same time she give you your space. The room/bathroom was very clean, well stocked and cozy. Walkability to shops/eateries is important to us, and her townhome was very accessible to eateries, grocery stores, breweries and downtown. We would highly recommend staying in Carolyn's home.

Sidenote-thanks Carolyn, for tips on how to make awesome croutons!

    Response from Carolyn:

You are welcome, April. I love to help people cook so you can always contact me with questions. I really enjoyed hearing about your jobs and how the cultures differ. I am so removed from those experiences. Carolyn

  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and I have already recommended using this service to a bunch of friends, simply based off my stay with Carolyn.
We were there for 2 nights to see a concert.
When we arrived she had put the local paper on our bed with the front page being about our concert. I thought that was so kind.
We werent in the house much more than to sleep, but it was very comfortable and extremely clean.
Because of my experience staying with Carolyn, I will be using Airbnb whenever I can in my travels!!
    Thank you Carolyn!

  • My girlfriend and I were on a road trip, traveling to Bend from Lake Tahoe. We needed a room at the day's notice and Carolyn was very fast to respond and accept.

Her place was comfortable and welcoming. The room has a private bathroom and patio area. The bed was very cozy and a nice change from the tent we'd been sleeping in. Additionally, Carolyn lives really close to a great bakery and all the downtown shops/parks/breweries, etc. We were able to bike to Drake Park in less than 5 minutes.

Carolyn was such a great host to us, too. She's laid back and enjoyable to chat with. If I visit Bend again, I'd stay at this location. I highly recommend Carolyn's place!

    Response from Carolyn:

    Hi Justin and Susie,
I loved meeting you. To think that I almost declined because I didn't want to bother with a "One nighter". I truly meant both offers of help to you and Susie. Yours with work and Susie's when she has cooking questions. Please tell her to call, i do "phone consults":) You'll have to return to Bend for a longer visit. Carolyn

  • From the beginning, Carolyn handled my reservation very professionally. When I had questions she answered my emails and phone calls in a friendly and timely manner. I appreciated her call the day before I arrived so that we could confirm the details of my arrival. My hope of finding a clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing place to stay was realized within minutes of arriving to her home. I'm very grateful for her kindness and willingness to go out of her way to help me at one point. I look forward to returning to her home during future visits to Bend. Thanks again, Carolyn for your hospitality.

About
I am an active senior. I love to walk, bike, hike, yoga, cook and entertain. I can't live without my radio which is always tuned to OPB, walking one of our many river trails, being with friends, family, and just enjoying life. One of my children lives in Holland and I love to visit her. Easy going and pretty relaxed best describes me. I love to be spontaneous and when I travel it is best not to have a schedule. I like to explore, that satisfies my curious nature. Always willing to try something new. The only house rule that I have is "don't put my knives in the dishwasher". Yoga is my grounding and helps me keep my sanity. Nothing better than a great meal and a good bottle of wine. My home is your home so enjoy.....
