The Space

Light and airy en suite room with stunning ocean views and comfy queen bed in contemporary beachy home.

You will be 2 minutes ride away from magnificent New Brighton Beach, a world class golf course and the charming seaside village of Brunswick Heads with its eateries and interesting shops. Byron Bay and Mullumbimby are a 15 minute ride away.
Very convenient for Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Bluesfest. Shuttle busses are available a block away.

You are welcome to use the well equipped kitchen for light cooking. Other meals, picnic hampers, blissful massage and pottery classes are available by arrangement. Wifi, offstreet parking and laundry facilities are available.

Ocean Shores is located between two airports, Ballina Airport to the south which has daily flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast Airport which has daily services to most major Australian cities and a few international destinations.

It is strongly suggested that you have a vehicle as public transport is minimal (except for festivals- there are shuttle busses)

I love meeting new people and sharing this wonderful part of the world with them. Welcome to my home!

  • I had an easy, hassle-free stay at Louise's place. The bed was comfy, the location was quiet, yet close to shops, and the private ensuite was excellent. I also loved the gardens and the deck.
The driveway up to the house is quite steep so I was glad to have a car. I'd happily stay again - thanks Louise!

  • We stayed with Louise over Easter as we attended Bluesfest.
Louise was an excellent host ensuring we had everything we needed...including a lovely room with a super comfy bed, great brekkys eaten on the sunny deck of her stunning house, yummy homemade cakes, local knowledge and even tips and advice about the bands we didn't know at Bluesfest!
We left with fantastic memories of Bluesfest, Byron and Louise....and a piece of her very own handmade pottery.

  • We stayed at Louise' house on 27th and 28th December 2013 and absolutely fell in love with the house and its surroundings!

The house itself is spacious and full of light with an amazing terrace with ocean view, and the room was as beautiful as in the picture shown on Airbnb. Waking up overlooking the ocean was just what we needed for our break!

As Louise points out in the description of the house, you do need a car to get around, but if you have that, then this is just a little paradise. The beach close to the house is beautiful and Byron Bay is only a 15 minute drive from Ocean Shores.

In addition, Louise (email hidden), made our stay comfortable and made us feel at home.

    Thank you Louise :)

  • Our first stay through Airbnb and what an awesome weekend we had!! Louise has a beautiful home, very comfortable, amazing million dollar views in a top location. And Louise certainly is a wonderful hostess not to mention all the extra touches. We felt very comfy in her home and enjoyed meeting her. • THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS. Louise was a joy to stay with - from offering to pick us up from the airport to cooking a great breakfast, to giving us a lift where we needed to go, she really went the extra mile. On top of that the house is stunning with a great range of books to read on the huge balcony while looking out over the ocean. If you want to chill or chat you're in great hands. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Louise (email hidden) and we had a beautiful (email hidden) up near Byron Bay.

It's a very quiet, restful area with a gorgeous view from the window out to sea. Byron's a short drive away and Louise gave us armfuls of maps and suggestions of things to go and see. If we weren't moving back to Europe - we'd definitely go and visit again - we loved it.

Thanks Louise for having us and being so hospitable! Love to Byron too. x

Hi, moved to this area from the city 11 years ago and have never looked back. I (email hidden)- ie attentive without being overbearing- it's your holiday after all! I am fun to be with and have good local knowledge so information about where to go and what to do is a cinch. I have a strong interest in more sustainable living and have designed my passive solar home with this in mind. . Try to shop locally wherever possible and am a great fan of 2nd hand stores. The fine fresh produce which is available at the 2 weekly local farmer's markets, forms the basis for my culinary creations. Independant media is important to me and I have been a volunteer at our local community radio station Bayfm - (listen online, it's great!) for about six years. I have ecclectic musical tastes and listen to most things eccept for tacky pop and yee haw country I have not been traveling for some years, but it is my intention to travel to Italy and South Africa later in the year. In the mean time, it would be great to see the rest of the world through your eyes and share this slice of paradise with you. Cheers, Louise.
