Very nice, new and comfortable Wi-Fi and internet apartment in the heart of downtown. Next to Santa Lucia hill, the apartment is located on Lastarria, a beautiful and bohemian street in one of the oldest neighborhood in the city. There are a lot of nice restaurants around and Gabriel Mistal Cultural Center is across the street.
Bellas Artes, the biggest Chilean museum and Parque Forestal, are a few blocks distance.
The apartment is very clean has a lot of light and is just renovated with brand new furniture. The bulding has a 24 hours doorman and a swimming pool on the roof. Public transportation is around the corner including Subway and bus.
On a clear day, fresh after winter showers, Santiago basks in one of the most spectacular settings of any city in the world. A glance through the downtown blocks reveals a mighty circle of mountains - the snowcapped Andean peaks to the east, and a smaller coastal range to the west - that frames the Chilean capital.
A clear day, however, is rare in this smog-blighted metropolis. In art class, Santiago school-kids draw their horizons a murky gray and, although the air has cleared somewhat in recent years, pollution and noise are likely to cloud your first impressions, especially in winter.
No hay muchas normas, excepto dejar limpio y no fumar dentro del departamento.
Karen is a reliable and proactive host. the apartment is exactly as presented and has all that one need. We had a great stay!
It was exactly as described. Flawless entry, clean and great location on Lastarria with great restaurants and lively night life.
Our stay at Karen's apartment was delightful! It was easy to find, and is very centrally located to walk to several Santiago highlights. There are lots of restaurants and cafes just steps outside the apartment building. The apartment was clean, and the pictures accurately reflect what we found. Karen communicated well be email, and we got to meet when we were checking out--a very kind lady, and we appreciated her flexibility in letting us leave our bags a little after the check out time.
My only complaint is that it was always a little hot in the apartment (during the summer), and even with the windows open and fans on, it was just a bit toasty. We were out and about during the day, so it didn't matter much--but just don't want anyone to be caught off guard if you are traveling during the summer. We all ended up being comfortable and this was a minor inconvenience. There is a refreshing pool on the roof to cool down in :)
All things considered, we had a great stay at Karen's apartment and a wonderful time in Santiago. Thank you Karen!
What a nice apartment ... you can't beat the location. We walked out the door right into the middle of Lastarria just steps from numerous great restaurants and one of the best ice-cream parlors in the world. Castillo Hidalgo is a block away; Museo des Belles Artes is a five-minute walk; and Barrio Bellavista is also just a five-minute walk.
The apartment is well furnished and comfortable, with a great view of Catholic University across the street. If you're planning on doing your own cooking, there's a grocery store just a block south on Avenida Portugal.
Finally, Karen was wonderful. She sent us a lot of useful information before our trip and was available for questions once we arrived.
Karen was a great host. Although we never met her because she was out of town during our visit, she communicated clearly and quickly to make sure everything was ready for our stay. She accommodated our travel schedule by letting us check-in early and remain in the apartment until we had to catch a bus that left at 22:00. She even arranged for Roberto, a taxi driver, to meet me outside of customs to transport me to the apartment. She also emailed us a list of attractions in Santiago and the surrounding area.
The apartment was as it appeared in the pictures and was very clean. It was nice to have two bedrooms and two baths as I was traveling with my adult son. The apartment is located close to many restaurants, just one block from a metro station and within walking distance of the historical sites. My only concern was that it was on a busy street that has good deal of traffic all night making it difficult to keep the bedroom windows open overnight. Other than that, I would highly recommend this apartment and I would choose to stay there again.
