The Space

Comfortable clean cozy modern room in large apartment with amazing private deck. Fresh linens and towels included.

You are welcome to cook and use the large kitchen. I have an espresso machine, microwave, stove/oven, large fridge, and all the dishes, pots and pans you could need. You are also welcome to use the spices, herbs, oils, and utensils and barbecue on the deck weather permitting.

I love, love, love our neighborhood. It's very centrally located for NYC. 10 minutes to Manhattan by subway. Tons of fantastic restaurants, outdoor cafes, boutiques, galleries, bars, and great people watching. Beautiful brownstone and tree lined streets. We have a wonderful butcher, cheese shop, wine shop, grocery store, and bread shop all within a short walk.

The apartment is a short walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, the Promenade, BAM, DUMBO, and Downtown Brooklyn. You can even walk to Chinatown and Wall Street from my place if you are inspired.

The building is on the Bergen stop of the F and G subway trains - steps from the entrance. Yellow cabs are pretty easy to find outside the apartment.

I have a cat. Most people who are allergic to cats have reported that they are less sensitive to our cat. She may demand attention from you. If she looks hungry, please feed her. She's an old lady.

Note: This is my home. I'm a New Yorker with a very typical, busy New York life. I work regular hours during the week but also come in and out throughout the day. My boyfriend lives nearby and I'm often at his house and often out of town on the weekends. I really enjoy hosting and meeting people from around the world. I'm happy to share food and drink and give tips on what to do and sit and chat but this is not a hotel or a traditional bed and breakfast. It's just a spare room in my 2-bedroom apartment that I rent out to good nice people from around the world like you.

The apartment is over a residential garage. Maybe twice a day, the garage door is opened electronically and it can be loud. I'm so used to it I don't notice it and no guest has ever complained, but I can imagine someone might be surprised to hear it for the first time.

  • The place is in a great location very close to the subway to Manhattan. Scott is a very friendly nice host, and has a lovely cat... Tomorrow, used to be around while having breakfast every morning... just cute!!! The room for two was a bit small but just fine because we were all day in town. Air conditioning was a plus in the room with such a hot weather in summertime.

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and everything worked out perfectly. Scott is a very welcoming and uncomplicated host and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The room where you stay isn't very big but it's well enough to sleep in and the flat in total is very spacious and you have the lovely addition of the deck. So we definitely can recommend to stay at Scott's.

  • We had a great stay at Scott's place!! It was our first Airbnb experience, but definitely not the last.

The apartment is spacious and cozy. The private deck is a really nice addition to the house and very rare for New York! It was very nice to be able to step outside with the great sunny weather we had during this week. Location wise it is perfect because the subway is just a few steps away and takes you straight to Manhattan. I think the price you're paying for this apartment is very, very reasonable.

Brooklyn is a really nice area to stay: spacious, lots of trees, cozy and many boutique shops, bars and adorable places to eat.

Scott is very friendly, helpful and he made us feel at home immediately. We even got to taste one of his home made cocktails :). He always took the time to chat and give us some tips on what to do or where to go.

And last but not least; Tomorrow is such a lovely cat....quiet and sweet old lady.

  • My wife and I had the most wonderful stay in Scott´s place. It was a cozy apartment, very colorful and comfortable. We enjoy homemade food and the apartment provides everything for cooking at home, which also allowed us to save money. The neighborhood is very friendly and quiet and we felt safe all the time, which is awesome. But at the same time there are lots of boutique stores, cafes, markets and restaurants, which made the experience of living here the more rich and exciting we have ever lived. The subway is close to the apartment and we could go everywhere without problem. Manhattan is just 10-15 minutes away, depending on where is your destination. Also, we walked from the apartment to the DUMBO, Brooklyn Bridge and Chinatown/Little Italy, which was at a reasonable distance too.

Scott is very friendly, thoughtful and generous. He gave us good ideas about what to do during our holidays, such as visiting the Smorgasburg market at the Brooklyn Bridge Park, where we could enjoy food from the world. Taking the water ferry to see the Flea Market located in Williamsburg was a very good tip too. We had nice chats with Scott while we could. He is very busy person, so we had the apartment for us most of the time. Tomorrow, Scott´s cat, was very lovely and friendly with us. She is very quiet, since she slept most of the time. We miss her now.

I think that staying at Scott’s place in Charming Boerum Hill made our experience in New York extremely enjoyable. We are very grateful with him and we will definitely choose his apartment again when we return to NYC in the future!

• Our stay at Scott's was just perfect. The appartment is so cool: the location so charming, full of great restaurants, 1 minute from the direct line to Manhattan. And Scott, even though we just crossed in the appartment from and to our busy days, was nice, friendly and very helpful.
Just the perfect spot: calm during the night, and so many good restaurants around during the day, with the F line just steps away.

  • It was our first experience with Airbnb and we couldn't ask for better hosts than Scott and Tomorrow.
Scott is not just a great guy, he is a wonderful human-being with a huge soul, who can contribute to conversation on any topic. He is a hard-working New Yorker, so most of the time he is out. But even at those few evening and night hours he's not - we had our complete privacy and space.
Each interaction with Scott is engaging, fun and informative. He recommended us the best places to visit, helped us to plan our routes, suggested cheap but still qualitative shopping areas etc.
Tomorrow the cat is a really sweet old lady, most of the time she's sleeping but we enjoyed the times she didn't.
Our room was cozy with fresh sheets and clean towels. The apartment has character, spacious, and has a private deck (can be seen on Scott's photos), which is great when there's a good weather.
The apartment is located in a great area, which serves home to many intellectual minds. You can walk throughout the neighbourhood at any hour without thinking twice. Walking distance to Brooklyn bridge. Closest supermarket is located within 2 minutes walk. The house stands on top and in the middle of a subway station (absolutely no sounds of subway are heard in the apartment, it's deep enough not to disturb anyone), so your maximum distance from apartment's door to the subway would be half platform (less than a minute). We've bought a weekly unlimited subway ticket ($30/person) which is definitely cheaper than paying $2.5/ride. The subway system in NY is very convenient and can get you fast to literally any area you, as a tourist, have to visit. You don't even need to switch the train to get to the heart of Manhattan.
Laundry is located right near the entrance to the subway, they charge small price and do a great job. Self service available at the same place as well.
To conclude: I think this small one-week hosting is a start of a long-term friendship with Scott. That was the best way for us to get to know the city and neither hotel nor other host could've provide us with the same outstanding experience. Highly recommended.

I'm a world traveler who appreciates the mix of city and country living. NYC (Boerum Hill Brooklyn) is my home. My friend Teah and I own a great little cabin in the Catskills 2 hours north of midtown Manhattan. By day, I work as a public interest lawyer fighting evil banks in court and advocating for LGBT rights. All other times, I swim, run, bike, dive, drink well, eat well, cook, read, listen to great music, and sort of just wander around taking it all in. I genuinely enjoy playing host and meeting people from around the world.
