This was a great place to stay. Very relaxing and quite, I didnt interact much with the hosts but when i did they were very kind and friendly. If you are by yourself and like to go to sleep early this is the place.
Nice room in a convenient house. Lots of privacy with the separate entrance. Enjoyed catching up with Sherry about work and living in silicon valley.
Very quiet, clean and attractive. Bathroom was down a short hallway, but the whole experience felt private. Appreciated the private entrance, to come and go without having to go through the family's space. Two bits of info would have been helpful-- advice on how to use the shower, and a more honest explanation of the location.
Ying and sherry have a beautiful house. I had a fine experience; however, there are some things to consider when booking this shared room.
During my time there ying and sherry were not responsive via text with questions I had. I had basic questions that I was able to figure out myself, but I would have liked a response given the $100 a night I spent.
There is very little privacy. There is no lock on the door and the bathroom is shared.
The room + bathroom weren't that clean. The trash was full of feminine products and there was no extra toilet paper rolls. I would. I would have expected a quick cleaning prior to my arrival.
The shower takes a few minutes to heat up, so don't be alarmed if it takes a bit to get warm.
When you enter the shared room, use the top lock.
There are very strict rules..no showering before 8am, so be sure to review those before booking. I made the mistake of not doing my due diligence prior to booking! Because I was on east coast time I naturally woke up at 6am and would have to wait to shower.
We are surprised and troubled about Zoe's feedback. We did not receive any text with questions or ways to address any issue. These issues about cleanliness are not accurate at all. We will however be even more conscientious to the care of the property. The other elements are minor details easily figured out or addressed in simple q&a's. Many of our courteous and professional guests have inferred or asked about it and have been appreciative.
We are quite surprised and disappointed at the nature and means of delivering this message.
Wonderful place to stay. Definitely recommended :). The room is great and Sherry was very welcoming!
I did not meet the host personally but we spoke over the phone and communicated through texts. She was very prompt in responding to my calls and text messages. The community is quiet and safe and very close to Stanford University.
The house is in a beautiful neighborhood near by the veteran's hospital and biking distance to Stanford. Sherry and Ying were very welcoming and gave great recommendations for restaurants nearby. I really enjoyed staying here.
