My stay was short and hassle free. Susan was good at getting back to me over text, arranged for a key to be available when I arrived, and leaving the next morning was easy. I met Susan briefly and she was very friendly. The house is on a charming quiet street on the isthmus about a 10 minute bike ride to the center of town. A great location. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the house friendly. Recommended.
Susan was a wonderful host~ by the end of my 3 night stay, I felt like I had made a new friend. She has 2 bikes that my daughter and I used a few times! Also, the house is just 2 blocks from the lake and walking distance to several good restaurants and a local market.
While we didn't get to have the time to chat at length with Susan, we absolutely adored the place and loved the homey lived in feel of the house. The attention to detail and accommodation for guests was very much appreciated by us. She accepted us very late in the evening and while we brought in our own bikes, she had bikes on hand for us to borrow. The guest mini fridge was a very nice and an unexpected amenity for us one morning when we had no options for breakfast. I would highly recommend that people consider staying at Susan's when they visit Madison.
Susan made me feel welcome by staying connected through email and text even though we never met in person. She introduced me to other guests and let me know what I might expect. I felt right at home in this clean house. My room was cozy and comfy and I enjoyed looking out at the stars through the ceiling windows. The neighborhood is great for walking and enjoying coffee and delicious meals at unique, non-chain restaurants. Everything was easy about my stay. If I make the same trip again, I will definitely try to stay here.
Susan welcomed me, showed me around and made sure I knew there was breakfast available and how to use the special coffee maker. I felt immediately at home.
Susan was lovely and welcomed us to the house, which is situated in a quiet leafy street. We were staying to attend a friend's party, just around the corner, and so walked a little in the area and found it a safe and attractive neighborhood.
The house was clean and homely, as was our room. It was a warm afternoon, and Susan was attentive in helping ensure our room was cool to sleep in. In the morning, I had a nice continental breakfast with cereal, bread and fruit laid out in the kitchen. All in all a pleasant stay.
Location, Location, Location. A great place in Madison where you can walk through the neighborhood to find markets, cafes, and restaurants. We walked over the Yahara River bridge each day, and enjoyed the proximity to Lake Monona. Susan had breakfast and snack items available. Susan makes great rhubarb strawberry jam! There are other jams and great breads to put it on. It was easy to communicate with her via text.
