Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting people from all places and walks of life. However, as we will all be busy and you will be tired after a long day of sight-seeing, our conversations might be brief! Our favorite pasttime is enjoying a pot of tea and some homemade bakery while chatting and relaxing.
Location location location! Madison's "Hip East Side" in the heart of the Isthmus!
Our street is one block long and is quiet, residential and sweet. Walk or bike a few blocks in any direction and you will find: Barrymore theatre, fine and casual dining, coffee shops, quaint local markets, bike paths, parks with playgrounds, Lake Monona, Yahara River, bakeries, bustling "Willy Street"--gosh! What more could you ask for? A few more minutes will get you to the State Capitol, Lake Monona, and State Street. Susan's place was just what I was looking for. Quiet, nice neighborhood. The room was comfortable. I wasn't there much, except to sleep, but Susan was very accommodating when I was there.
Susan has a lovely home. I don't drive but found this a really good location for getting into State Street for research at the Wisconsin Archives. Nice quiet neighbourhood and a really friendly welcome. I would highly recommend staying here.
Susan and her housemate made us feel very welcome. It was a great alternative to staying in a hotel. Cute, quaint home in a very nice neighborhood close to lake and shops. It was great we could bring our dog and Susan even checked in on him and texted us while we were out, which meant a lot. Thanks Susan!
I had a wonderful experience staying at Susan's house. I had a late flight coming in and she was very accommodating. I felt like I was visiting an old friend and not a stranger's house. The room was clean and beautiful and the bed was very comfortable ( a bit on the soft side, but still very nice). In the morning coffee, juice, bagels etc were all provided in the kitchen. I felt very relaxed and at home and Susan and her daughter answered all my questions about the town and they wished me luck for my interview (which was the reason I was visiting madison).
I would highly reccomend Susan's room for weary travelers.
Susan and her daughter were fantastic. I arrived and was greeted at the door and given a nice tour. They had towels in the bedroom all laid out with chocolates on them. Also, they provide their guests with the use of a small mini fridge that is only there for airbnb guests. They gave us recommendations for dinning and shopping. We also spent a good time just chatting about anything on our way in and out the door. My girlfriend and I would come back in a heartbeat. The room was cozy and perfect for our needs, free on street parking, and they had bikes we could use. All this is why Susan receives my highest recommendation.
