Even if it lies in a very central area of Venice in the Castello “ Sestiere“ ( quartier ) is very quiet being out of the mass tourism beaten path but at the same time close to everything. In fact it takes only a few minutes walk to the nearest public boat piers ( San Zaccaria dock ) where all the major boat lines depart to all the most important destinations: Airport, Train Station, Parking Areas, Murano, Burano, Torcello, Venice-Lido.
Next to the apartment you can find everything you need for a pleasant stay like local Restaurants, bar as well as supermarkets, butchers, bakeries and chemist. It is a great convenience to be just at a few minutes walk from the Saint Marc’s Cathedral and the Doge’s Palace, or enjoy the view from the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront and the Rialto Bridge or wonder through the Biennale gardens and the Arsenal; also because in Venice public transportation is very expensive : 7,50 euro for every single ticket.
Other Things to Note
The arrangement includes linen, towels, all you may need for a coffee or tea, all the detergents to clean or the soap for the washing machine.
Elisabetta was the perfect host. From the time we made our reservation, we were provided with such helpful information. The directions, with accompanying photos, helped us reach her apartment quite easily. Upon our arrival, she spent time with us, telling us about the neighborhood, giving restaurant recommendations (which were excellent. Trattoria da Remigio was wonderful!) Elisabetta was also very accessible during our stay. Questions about a local supermarket, or how to best get to the Biennale, were all answered quickly and kindly. Also, when booking, it was mentioned that this trip was in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary, a detail which Elisabetta thoughtfully remembered with a lovely Prosecco which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The apartment itself is beyond beautiful. So tastefully decorated, with all the amenities one could ever need. And comfortable as well. And the view! We enjoyed watching Venetian life pass by beneath our window- the boats, the gondoliers, the people crossing the bridge just a little way down the canal. It was all lovely to watch. Although we had two more cities to visit before our vacation would end, it was truly difficult to leave Venice and this wonderful home. Grazie mille Elisabetta- we appreciate everything that you did to provide us with such a wonderful, memorable stay.
This is the perfect apartment in Venice! It is in a great location and not far from some amazing restaurants and sights. The apartment was fabulous, it had everything we needed including a wonderful coffee machine and was spotlessly clean! Elisabetta was an amazing host, very helpful and considerate and provided precise directions to find the apartment. She even booked us a table at a fabulous little restaurant one night, so definitely ask her for some recommendations of where to eat. We had an excellent stay and I will definitely be back at some point in the future.
Excellent. Elisabetta was a very considerate and helpful hostess. The directions were precise, and the apartment was perfectly located, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was stocked with a Nespresso machine and capsules, and is even nicer than the pictures on the site.
Elisabetta and her apartment were absolutely perfect. The actual apartment is as nice, if not nicer, than the pictures show. Opposite the loft and kitchen is a beautiful bank of floor to ceiling windows with gorgeous drapery. The canal below is quiet, with only the occasional motor boat passing below. In the morning the birds would sing and it would quietly echo along the channel. The chandeliers were lovely, as was the bedding.
As for location, it is definitely in more of a neighborhood than a bustling thoroughfare. For us, this was a good thing. It would take 10 or so minutes to walk to San Marco Square, or the Rialto bridge...but that was fine with us. Those areas are very loud, hard to walk through, etc. Besides, finding your way "home" at the end of the evening is kind of fun...especially with your iPhone handy. :-)
I would highly recommend that you stay in Elisabetta's loft...when we come back with the kids in a few years, we will certainly stay here again. I won't even bother looking for another place to stay.
Elisabetta was an amazing hostess! She went and found us upon arrival (we got lost, despite her excellent directions). Upon arriving at her loft, she had left us roses and prosecco since it was our honeymoon. She took the time to familiarize us with everything, and even took the time to mark some items on the map she left us. We needed reservations for dinner two nights while we were there, and Elisabetta took the time to call the restaurant (oliva nera - amazing restaurant) for us! The loft itself was spectacular! 1,500's charm with modern luxury. Killer view of a beautiful canal from the window. Perfect location close to attractions, yet very quiet at night. Bathroom and shower were very clean with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed upstairs was sufficient.
