The B&B Villa Fontilha is situated in a medieval large house built of stone. The 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin are on the same floor with an exotic Moroccan style bathroom.

We speak French, English and Russian.

The space

Villa Fontilha is located in the heart of Usclas d'Hérault, a typical French southern village on the banks of the Hérault River in Languedoc. The house has a pretty, shaded garden with a large sunny terrace. We can host up to 8 guests in our 4 comfortable bedrooms.
There is a tranquil, landscaped terrace for eating breakfast al fresco.
The village of Usclas d'Hérault dates from Roman times. The authentic touch of history blends perfectly with modern, rustic style design and comforts of Villa Fontilha. Originally, the building was part of the village's medieval rampart, with many details that are witness to those ancient times.

Interaction with guests

We love meeting people and will be happy to show you our picturesque village and neighbouring areas, popular touristic spots as well as the less known and unusual sites.

Other things to note

The South of France is famous for sunshine, southern cuisine and a relaxed French lifestyle. It is also the largest wine producing region in France and the oldest. There is a golf course nearby, Mediterranean beaches less than 30 minutes away and some of the best waking and cycling routes in Europe on our doorstep.
Surrounded by French history and exceptional natural sites, and just an hour’s drive from Spain, at Villa Fontilha you will receive a warm and friendly welcome.

Eric was the perfect host. He responded in a timely manner and was very informative about the area and especially the wines :) We made a tapas dinner and Eric was very helpful and let us use the kitchen. His backyard is very cozy and nice for evening chill.

What a wonderful airb&b experience! Eric and Yulia are wonderful hosts and our stay could not have been better! I am an excessive airb&b user and have stayed in few homes that compare! The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was a high quality mattress and I slept wonderfully! The bathroom is shared, but very clean and I really liked the Moroccan style tub. Plenty of hot water. The breakfast was incredible too. Eric even went out in the morning for fresh croissants! It was a nice treat to have french press coffee with cream as in Europe its mostly espresso. They also had tea and honey. The exterior part of the house is a wonderful hang out spot for guests. There is a big palm tree, a table and outdoor couch. Its nice to have a spot to hang out comfortably that is outside the room. If you can manage a stay here, you won't regret it!

Great host and hostess. Very accommodating. Full of great of ideas for things to do and see, went out of their way to get us sorted with a taxi so we could go out for a nice dinner. The house is gorgeous with lovely big, cool rooms. The breakfast was an extra treat with fresh coffee, juice and croissants every morning. They even had fresh figs from a neighbours tree for us. Would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for a quiet getaway in the rural French countryside.

This is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed here for two nights as a base to see the area. The house is only maybe 15 minutes drive from the main highways. Very friendly hosts on arrival, and rooms and bathroom spacious, clean and very homely. Eric and Julia have brilliant language skills, so communication was great. The house has a long history, full of character, and is tucked away just off the village square. We had two rooms, one for the children , and the bathroom is really nice in a Moroccan style. There was plenty of breakfast, and great conversation with the hosts who are very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the local area. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Thank you for a great stay!

Our hosts were very kind and helpful. They recommended a perfect restaurant for the evening. The house was very cosy and original decorated. We liked the authentic look and the lounge sit in the garden with a big ancient tree. In short: we liked it here!

A lovely welcome at Villa Fontilha. Eric and Yulia made us feel very comfortable sharing their space. An interesting home that has been restored by Eric with some beautiful features. Good breakfast in the garden. It was a nice stay. Shared bathroom, and quirky home - not for everyone, but we enjoyed it. We were made to feel very welcome. Thank you.
