It is a double bedroom upstairs with en-suite adjoining, which is only used by guests ( There is also a bathroom downstairs, which includes a whirlpool bath, lovely way to relax after a long flight.) I can provide an extra bed if required. THE STAIRS IS QUITE STEEP& MAY BE A PROBLEM FOR LESS AGILE PEOPLE, but generally not a problem. The kitchen is available for guests to use - it has the usual appliances you would expect to find in a modern kitchen.
For larger bookings, please note that we have another double room available downstairs with a bathroom adjacent to it. The bathroom includes a whirlpool bath, a nice way to relax after a busy day or a long flight. (Please refer to our other listing to book.)
Just a few mins.walk to bus stop or 15 min walk (or bus) to Swords where there is lots of great restaurants, pubs etc., which also serve good food at reasonable prices, great Shopping Centre - Pavillion Shopping Centre - where you can buy beautiful Irish gifts to take home, or you can get 'cheap n cheerful' souvenirs etc.,
There is a very good bus service to Dublin City where there are many tourist attractions - something to interest everyone. The regular bus service takes 30-40mins or SWORDS EXPRESS an award winning service, which takes approx 20 mins. The bus stop is 3 mins away. ( YOU MUST HAVE EXACT FARE FOR BUS - BE SURE TO HAVE SOME €EUROS) There is free wifi on board all buses. You can buy a LEAP CARD at the airport which is the best option, can be used on all buses & trains.
Anyone interested in history will enjoy Swords with it's Norman Castle which dates back to the 13th century. It was the residence of the 1st Anglo-Norman Archbishop of Dublin.(UNDER REPAIR AT MOMENT, NO ACCESS) Also worth a visit is the 9th Century Round Tower where the only remaining relic of it's Medieval church is it's Belfry. Information is available from FingalTourism - which has an office centrally located in Swords
Newgrange World Heritage Site is a 5,000 year old Passage Tomb located in the Boyne Valley. This is one of the top visitor attractions in Ireland. This is a 40 min. drive from here and can be accessed by country roads which will take you off the beaten track allowing you to explore The Boyne Valley & enjoy the 'real' Irish experience.
There is a lovely park and river - The Ward River - here where I live. Great for a walk or for an early morning run, also outdoor exercise bikes etc for the more energetic, also a local Gym which facilitates non-members. A ten minute drive takes you into the countryside of Fingal including beautiful parks, with great playgrounds for children, beaches and fishing villages. Howth village & Harbour is well worth a visit with spectacular views of Dublin Bay and Coastal Walkway.
The Airport is a 15 min bus journey with buses running frequently, or taxi service which is even quicker. My local Cab Office does the airport run for €10 at any hour, which I will book for you. I also drop people to the airport occasionally, if they have young children or if they are experiencing problems with car-hire etc. TELL THE TAXI/CAB DRIVER THE HOUSE IS CLOSE TO THE CHURCH & SCHOOL.
I do not have a restriction on times to check in or out, obviously within reason. Guests can come directly from the Airport & enjoy a tea/coffee, a hot shower and a rest. We are not located in the Airport flight path, so no noisy planes to keep you awake. There is parking outside the house.
I like people to feel comfortable & relaxed in my home. Sometimes people like to sit around and relax before heading off on their adventures, I like people to feel this is their home for the duration of their stay.

Relax & enjoy my home.
My wife and I had a late night arrival into Dublin Airport, and needed a place to stay close to the airport before picking up a rental car the next day. Even though we arrived around 11pm, Monica was more than welcoming and made us feel right at home! We would DEFINITELY stay here again.
I had a lovely, comfortable stay. Monica was very welcoming and helpful. The flat was neat and clean
I can't stress enough how fantastic monica and her home is. She is welcoming and couldn't do more for us and her house is clean and in a beautiful and convenient (website hidden) believe the comments about the beds... Felt like I was sleeping at home. Thanks monica
Monica has a lovely home, very convenient for the airport. Monica was very welcoming and accommodating, and although we didn't have much time to talk as we were flying very early, we had a good chat and I can tell that Monica would make a great host if you were staying longer. You should definitely stay with Monica!
The room is really nice and cosy and Monica was a really good host: she waited us until late at night.
The location is perfect because very close to the airport.
We enjoyed our stay!
We stayed at Monica's home just for one night, but we really enjoyed it. Monica was a very friendly and helpful host. The breakfast was perfect as well. I can definitely recommend this accommodation to everyone!
Monica was very welcoming. no curfew. the location was only about 10 mins away from the airport. monica offered us drinks upon arrival. talked to us for a while to make us feel comfortable. ordered a taxi for us since we had to be at the airport by 5:30am the next morning. she was extremely kind and we had great conversations about ireland. i would definitely recommend her place to anyone looking for a warm irish welcome.

I am friendly & easy-going and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. When on holidays I enjoy meeting and chatting with the locals, I find that the best way to learn about a new place. I only started Hosting in March '13 but have met so many great & interesting people.
I will enjoy a quiet Christmas at home with my family this year. No plans as yet, for holidays. Hopefully a little Winter Sunshine may be on the cards for early in the New Year.
I love reading and my other pastime is gardening. I enjoy swimming to keep fit, unfortunately I do not go as often as I should !
I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people in 2014.
