About This Listing
Get comfortable in a renovated Tahoe cabin with a view of the lake and a private home owners beach. Hiking or mountain biking through Paige Meadows, and in the winter time you are 10 minutes from Homewood, 20 minutes from Squaw or Alpine Meadows.
This is an upgraded A-frame, just 2 miles south of Tahoe City. You'll be very comfortable within the context of a traditional Tahoe cabin.
There are 3 bedrooms: 1 downstairs (twin bed with a trundle), and 2 upstairs (one King, one Queen).
The front deck has a picnic table with chairs and a gas BBQ.
For hiking or mountain biking, you can start from the house and explore Paige Meadows. Or, you can park at the Home Owners beach and take the bike path South to Tahoma, or North to Tahoe City and continue on to Squaw Valley beside the Truckee River.
There is a second house on the property that can also be rented (phone number hidden)). The difference between the two houses are minor, yet significant:
1. While the layout of both houses is identical, this house is about 332 square feet smaller.
2. This house sits partially behind the front house, and while the views of Lake Tahoe are exceptional they are slightly obstructed compared to the front house.
Winter. Note that the house does not have a garage. There is a 60 foot long path that leads to the house from the parking area; in the winter the path will most likely be covered in snow (fresh or old). There are about 12 steps up to the front door, and these steps will most likely also be covered in snow (fresh or old). A shovel will be available to clean the steps.
In winter it's best to assume that there will be a snow storm during your stay, which may require the use of snow chains on your car to drive to and from the house.
Summer. The Lake Tahoe Park Association home owners property provides free access to over three acres of lake front property with 850 feet of beach, 2 piers, boat buoys, picnic facilities, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, lawn area, playground equipment, basketball court and open space - just a 5 minute drive from the house.
Interaction with Guests
You can expect me to be available for any questions you have, but I would otherwise not be bothering you.
The house is in a neighborhood which is 500 feet above Lake Tahoe, which not only offers panoramic views of Lake Tahoe but is also quiet and safely removed from the day to day tourist traffic as it is near the end of a dead end road.
The house sits back from the road on a very large lot with 4 standalone houses.
Please do not bring ski's or snow boards into the house; you can leave them in/on your car, or on the front porch.
My husband and I were looking to get away from the city for a weekend and found Mark's place. We brought our dog with us and could not have been happier. By far the cleanest Airbnb we've ever seen, the location was perfect and the views were to die for. Can't wait to return!
Mark's cabin is awesome. My wife, baby, and two friends all fit very comfortably. The place is clean and bright. You can't beat the view and location. It's very close to Tahoe City, great restaurants, and an awesome trailhead for hiking. The neighborhood is very quiet.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice Samsung TV (not that we watched a lot of TV). There is also a Sonos sound bar, which we took advantage of to play music while hanging out in the evenings. Good tunes, a bottle of wine, and a view... It was great!
Mark also sent a very nice welcome email with ideas for things to do and generally made the whole stay very easy and comfortable. I highly recommend this cabin and will definitely be back with my family again. Thanks, Mark!
Mark's West Shore cabin is simply beautiful. Not only has Mark taken great care of the place, creating a very warm and inviting environment for my family of four but he also made sure we had the essentials necessary to get our stay off to a great start. The cabin is well stocked on all fronts - utensils, cutlery, towels, etc...
Mark did a great job of explaining the lay of the land and made available a handy folder that had plenty of great recommendations for the surrounding area. Speaking of location, Mark's cabin is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood while still being 5 min away from Lake Tahoe. We had easy access to nearby restaurants, grocery stores and pharmacys and this made life alot easier for us.
The little things matter when you are travelling with two kids. We can't wait to visit Tahoe again and definitely intend on staying at Mark's cabin again.
