We had a great introduction to Ireland and a lovely stay at Mary and Jason's. Everything was just as described and Jason was very attentive and helpful. The train station is a short and easy drive so you can easily get into Dublin. We'd surely visit again!
Mary & her husband were very welcoming & kind!! I am not sure there is a clear way to navigate getting to their apartment, but they do the best they can at being specific with their directions. If you stick with it & have a good sense of humor you'll make it, & after you find it once, you'll find it every time....even in the dark. It would be great if they could hang a sign on the main road (but I am not sure of the legalities of that).
The apartment itself is very comfortable, roomy, clean, & up-to-date. The beach & its amazing views are an added bonus. It is away from the city a little, so if you want the hang out in Dublin & get the pub crawl experience, you'd be better off staying in the city. If you want a private, relaxing place in which to wonder from...it is perfect!! These are truly wonderful & kind people & I would recommend their place to any & all of my family and friends. It was truly a great start to our remarkable adventure!! Thank you guys for having us!!!
P.S. Eat at the Bombay Bistro (Indian Restaurant in town) so yummy!!! Skip The Strand Bar for food (just not good!)
Mary and Jason were wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly upon arrival. The apartment was perfect for us, very, very clean! The beach just steps away. It was so nice to come back from a day in Dublin or site seeing around Ireland and relax and play at the beach with our children. Communication was perfect. Any questions I had were answered quickly and they were there to help answer any questions during our stay. Our family had an amazing time and did not want to leave! Getting around was very easy with trains running often back and forth from Dublin as well as buses. This was the perfect apartment for our family of 5. Great location, great food, wonderful hosts! Already looking forward to returning!!
Mary and her family were very welcoming. We got lost despite Mary's instructions as to how to get to her place. Despite there being lots of notice of our visit the apartment was very stuffy when we arrive and we had to open the windows to let the fresh air in. Also we didn't know if Mary would provide any welcome cup of tea or any breakfast. It would be handy to know if anything is provided, nothing was. A chair or table in the bathroom would have also been handy to put things on whilst showering. Thank you for having us to stay.
We are sorry that our apartment did not meet your expectations.
Our directions are extremely detailed so as to avoid our guests getting lost.
As there was a chill in the air I had put the heating on for 30 minutes before you arrived so that the apartment wouldn't be cold. We wouldn't open windows in the apartment as you never know a guest's preference for temperature.
I believe that we are very clear that we are a self catering apartment rental and not a bed & breakfast so therefore we would not be providing breakfast. We do leave in our apartments tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, cooking oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc to help guests until they have time to go to the supermarket.
In the bathroom there are hooks for towels or clothes, a shower tidy in the shower for your toiletries and a large bathroom cabinet.
Mary was a great host. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed and more. It was within walking distance of a great restaurant for dinner.
Mary replied to our emails quickly and efficiently.
The apartment was right on the ocean and it was nice to walk out and dip my foot in on the first day.
What a lovely seaside apartment! We used it each day (after our morning beach stroll) as a base to explore both Dublin City and the Meath passage tombs. Dublin is easily accessible either by the train in Rush/Lusk or a 30-40 minute drive into town by automobile. The Meath countryside is an easy drive up the motorway, and the apartments are located roughly 20 minutes from the airport.
The accommodations were immaculate and cozy and suited our needs perfectly. Mary was a wonderful hostess and very responsive to our needs. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
Mary was a wonderful host. It was great being on the beach in a quiet location, but still within walking distance of the nearest pub/restaurant (just at the end of the beach!), with Dublin not far away by train. Mary made us feel right at home!
