After a long journey from Greystones, we get to a lovely house in Killala where Mary and Fred welcome us like good friends.
We spend two nights with lovely chats and care next to a great fireplace.
Our family enjoy the places around and the towns nearby.
We thanks Mary for all the details that makes us feel welcome like the card, water and sweets in the room; Mary even offer a spear room in case our daughter wish to sleep by herself.
We highly recommend this place for anybody who wish to have a lovely brake.
Mary and Fred made us very welcome upon our arrival allowing us to store our bikes and surf gear in their garage. We arrived late in the evening and we were greeted with tea and biscuits and most importantly a chat about our journey and what what our plans were for the next few days. Warm beds greeted us that night and every night there after. Absolute heaven. Both Mary and Fred could not have done more to make us feel very welcome in their home. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and friendly environment to spend a few days you will not go wrong staying here.
My boyfriend and I were welcomed by Mary with a lovely cup of tea, cake & a chat. This made us feel very welcome to her lovely home. The room was large, clean, comfortable and with beautiful views of the sea.
After enjoying a walk around the village and a great meal in the local restaurant we came back to find Mary had put on the electric blankets for us, very sweet!
In the morning we had a cozy breakfast with homemade bread.
We really enjoyed our stay, all the personal touches added by Mary were amazing (card, bottled water & snacks in the room etc) we would recommend a stay here to anyone.
The cliffs Downpatrick head is very near and also well worth a visit.
Mary is a very nice host! Her house is super and comfort and herself is very caring and pre-warmed electric blankets for us. My family felt like at home and had a lovely stay at her place. Breakfast was really delicious! Her house is located in a bay area where sea can be seen direct from guest's bedroom. We would stay longer if we have had time.
Mary's place is highly recommend for all type of nice guests. Thank your very much Mary. My family had a lovely time!
Mary welcomed us into her house on a very miserable day with a cheery smile and a cuppa. We had a lovely stay and chat with Mary and would recommend her place to anyone. Stunning location too!
I'm a native with plenty of stories collected on the area, recently retired now and enjoying the extra time I have to walk/hike in the surrounds of North Mayo! I've a lovely dog here (who doesn't sleep in the house!) which you'd meet if you visit, who is of a ridiculously friendly quiet nature who will no doubt greet you with enthusiasm when you arrive :) I'd advise visiting here if you'd like a little peace and quiet for the night(s), whether stopping in the area or travelling through. My kitchen is at your disposal in the mornings for breakfast and I'm on hand at any point if you've questions or need advice on where to travel to next. The rule I live by is to treat others as I'd like to be treated myself, so my home becomes your home.
