A little off the beaten path and rustic, but this is a unique experience in a transitioning neighborhood. In close proximity to a couple great restaurants like Fat Hen and Wild Olive. The host is very welcoming and even allowed me to use their bikes to check out some of the island. Would stay again!

This place was great! It was clean and quiet. Easy drive to Charleston and surrounding islands. Billy was great with communication and welcoming us. We will definitely be back!

We came down to Charleston to watch the total solar eclipse. When looking for a place to stay, the Sleepy Shack seemed absolutely perfect- and it was. Cava was extremely inviting, and the Sleepy Shack itself was charming. Located on John's Island it was in between the city of Charleston and Folly Beach which made it a great location for access to both and a nice getaway after a long day. Looking forward to staying there on our next trip down!

Great location! If you want privacy the "Shack" is perfect! We loved the Low Tide Brewery. Only spent one day in Charleston but was a very short drive. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great, cozy shack with everything you need. Cava was extremely friendly and helpful. We relied on Uber which worked out fine, normally only waiting 10-15 minutes for a ride (spent most of our trip at Folly Beach and downtown Charleston). Picked up some fresh fish at the fish market one day and used the grill provided which was a lot of fun. Didn't have an opportunity to use the fire pit (bugs were pretty bad due to a lot of rain in weeks prior), but it was a great firepit and would have been a lot of fun to use.

The Sleepy Shack is a comfortable, cozy studio. I made a point to stay here again during my time in Charleston. Cava is very attentive host. The studio is very private with tropical landscape. The private back porch facing the fire pit and woods was a plus and made for a nice view out the sliding glass doors. It is close enough to downtown and the beach that I enjoyed leaving the Charleston peninsula and returning to the Sleepy Shack after a busy day around the area. I would definitely look forward to staying here again. Thank you Cava!

My artist husband and young son love the Johns Island lifestyle! We love the open space the rural environment provides. We enjoy the outdoors, heading to the beach (20 minutes away) or hopping on our boat for a spin around the waterways.

We aren't all country though! We enjoy the culture, history and fine dining that Charleston offers. Only 15 minutes away!
