Modern, light-filled bedroom with private full bath in our airy house on the hill in Mill Valley's Almonte area, ~5 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. We're located on a quiet street and enjoy views of Mt. Tamalpais and the town below from our expansive raised deck. It's a short walk down the hill to catch a bus to SF, and ~1.5miles to the shops of downtown Mill Valley. Easy access to the MV-Sausalito bike path. We're also near to a stop for the Marin Airporter (a direct shuttle to/from SFO airport). We have an off-street parking spot available if you'll be arriving by car.
The room is best for 1 or 2 adults. It is furnished with a comfortable queen-sized bed, high quality linens, and down pillows/comforter. Limited closet space is available for hanging items. The en suite bathroom has a deep soaking tub with jets for relaxing, or a shower option. The bedroom & bathroom are both wired for sound, so enjoy your choice of radio stations or bring your ipod/iphone to plug in. We have a reliable, high-speed wireless network and enjoy good cell phone reception throughout our home.
If you're a cyclist (road or mountain), hiker, or runner there are excellent options right from our house and we have plenty of maps - enjoy nearby Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, Marin Headlands, or Mt. Tamalpais. A visit to Pt. Reyes makes for a nice afternoon drive or scenic bike ride (~30 miles each way through the farmlands of West Marin). If you're more interested in the sights of the city, it's a scenic trip via the Sausalito ferry, an easy connection via bus, or a short drive to the Golden Gate Bridge. We're also within easy reach of the Napa/Sonoma wine region by car (very limited public transit in that direction). If you aren't in the mood to explore, then curl up with a book in front of our cozy gas fireplace or in one of the nooks in our terraced hillside yard.
If you are not familiar with Mill Valley, it is easiest to arrive by daylight. Our streets are winding, hilly, and narrow and some visitors find them challenging to navigate at night.
** Please note that to keep some flexibility for ourselves & visiting family/friends, we do not accept reservation requests for the distant future. We usually open up the calendar for the coming 2-3 months only. If you're considering a stay beyond that period, check back within that time-frame for availability **
We live with a quiet, calm & friendly dog and a 3-legged cat. Please be respectful of animals (and careful not to leave doors open!), and best for guests without allergies.
NO SMOKING INDOORS OR OUT.
You are welcome to enjoy our living areas during your stay including the living/dining room, deck, patio, and gardens. We are happy to share space in the fridge for your restaurant leftovers and snacks. Coffee and tea are always available. We provide an informal breakfast for guests - we typically leave out a selection of cereal, granola, yogurt etc on workdays. We often make some type of baked good on our days off, depending on our weekend schedule.
Cheri and Andrew were warm and welcoming which is how I felt staying in their home. A beautiful place up in the hills, with a sprawling view of the valley. The best part for me staying here was Sula the dane, and Nigel the cat. They totally made me feel at home. The pics are spot on accurate, and there is a Jacuzzi in the private bath.
I do not have enough words to express our groups satisfaction with everything ... we were so blessed to have fallen onto this listing when we were looking.
Cheri and Andrew made us feel like we were at home from the moment we booked until well after we even left. Their fur-babies made our trip. The nicest dog and cat we have ever met - cuddly and friendly the entire time. We had little notes left for us on a daily basis and even snacks in the morning including some delicious fresh made pumpkin loaf. We sat and chatted with both Cheri and Andrew and the conversation was so easy that it was like we new them from years. They also had lots of great tips on places to go/eat/etc.
Location is great, super quick and speedy to get into San Fran (we used uber and they have no problem picking us up and dropping us off).
We would one hundred percent stay with them again and likely will if we are back in the San Fran area!
Awesome stay once again. Andrew and Cheri were very welcoming and provided great tips about the area!
This room is fantastic and Cheri and Andrew could not have been better hosts.
First the room and their home: It is as beautiful and peaceful as it looks in the photos. There is so much natural light pouring in through all the windows and the private bath in the room is spa-like.
Cheri & Andrew: Such wonderful, friendly people! They communicated with us ahead of time to make sure our arrival went smooth. They created a huge binder of things to do in the area that is waiting for you on the bed side table when you arrive. (Protip: if you're a runner or hiker, be sure to ask them for some advice on where to go nearby. Mill Valley is amazing trail country.)
Pets: Nigel (the cat) is so friendly and cute, and Sula (the dog) is adorable.
I had a wonderful stay in Mill Valley with Cheri and Andrew. They have been the perfect hosts for me, giving me good advice on sights to see in this wonderful region that I am delighted to have discovered.
Cheri and Andrew managed to be both welcoming and unobtrusive. They were quick to provide information, directions and maps when we needed them. The space is even nicer than we'd expected. Our hosts have taken an attractive house in a lovely setting and made it even more inviting. Excellent bread, too.
A "charmed experience" as my wife described it. Exactly.
The room looks exactly like the pictures! Airy, bright, CLEAN, and the plush top mattress and comforter set felt amazing! Me and my bf Daniel came here on a staycation and as first timers using Airbnb, we didn't know what to expect. As this was our first time, we felt that it was great start for our Airbnb experience. Cheri and Andrew were great hosts who helped us in finding local eateries and places to hike. They also helped our day start out beautifully with french press coffee, a warm fresh pumpkin cranberry scone and some of the juiciest pears i've ever eaten. The ad itself explains everything that is expected of this place. Although it is a little hilly, and it may be a bit difficult to get to, Cheri and Andrew made sure that we had a sufficient amount of directions and advice that we got there easily! Amazing first time using Airbnb!

Easygoing & hospitable. NPR listeners, love to travel. We enjoy cooking, eating, & sharing a bottle of wine. We work long hours during the week but are often home on weekends, when you'll typically find us in the garden or out on a trail somewhere. Whether at home or traveling, we like to walk, hike, run, bike, and generally explore the outdoor world around us. We're happy to make recommendations for active/outdoor or city activities during your stay, and we're very familiar with public transit options. We love to host AirBnb guests and welcome you to our beautiful neighborhood!
