We stayed with a group of 10 and arrived for St Patrick's Day. My group was disappointed that there were no beds as we had seen in the pictures. We were then told there would be airbeds with no pillows. This further disappointed my group as we paid £800 ($1520 CAD) for 3 nights. Every night was dreadfully cold and some of us came down with a cold by the end.
Breakfast was provided, which was good. The location was not bad as the city centre was accessible through the train. Gabby and Mike were amazing hosts though. They were patient and polite. They both provided advice on things to do and information about the city.
Nikone was hosted by us in the busiest period of the year which is St. Patrick's day. Due to a high demand for accommodation in the peak time, price is understandably higher than in other times. Nikone and his group agreed to bring their own sleeping bags and towels, what he confirmed a few times before his arrival. H was advised that its unreal to put 10 beds in one room, but only airbeds what Nikone was happy with during his pre arrival emails.
(by the way - AirBbB = airbed + breakfast).
He managed to convince me to get him an earlier check in, free of charge saying that he's travelling from Canada (what was not true as they were travelling from the UK). He managed to check-in with us at 2pm, what is 5 hours ealier than our check-in time..... He was convincing.
Eventually Nkone and the group did not bring the sleeping bags with them, even if we arranged they would, so we had to buy extra duvets in Ikea and throws and pillows.
Nicone and his group got a good deal from us, comparing to the room rental in Dublin on St. Patrick's day.
An interesting thing is that just before Nicone arrived, we had exactly the same size of group sleeping in the same conditions in the same room as Nicone and we got from them 4.5 star review .....
Nicone, all the best with other hosts and next time try to stick to your word so you will not be disappointed.....
Gabby and Mike hosted our large group during the week end before St Patrick's day. They were kind and welcoming, and gave us useful advice about what to see or visit in Dublin. We spent a very nice week end in their house, even if we felt a bit cold during the two nights we spent there. I would recommend not to hesitate to stay at their place, they are really friendly and it was a pleasure to stay in their house!
Mike & Gabby are nice and I feel at home at your place.
The house s nice and the room as well.
They gave me many information on irish life style and irish cultural.
I really suggest this accommodation.
I had a more than lovely experience with Mike and Gabby. Their place is located close to the bus an train stop in a very quite area. The single room that I stayed in was very tastefully decorated, warm, and clean. So was the bathroom. I had a very relaxed stay here, and both Mike and Gabby were very easy-going - making the experience worthwhile. Since I was staying for a week, I could use the laundry room anytime, and even though I woke up pretty late most of the days, I could help myself to the breakfast anytime. They have two lovely kids and a very sweet dog who I absolutely loved to bits!
If I am around Clonsilla, I would definitely like to drop into Gabby and Mike's place again!
The cosy home of Gabby and Mike makes you feel at home, both are always happy for a talk. The house is clean and nice, very close to the train station and in a nice neighborhood. Was very happy to stay with the family!
Very helpful and accomodating hosts, both very welcoming and happy to chat. Was a great place to spend the week.
Lovely hosts. Very welcoming and warming people that go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and at home.
