You will feel welcomed to New York City by staying a few steps away from Central Park, in an authentic pre-war building and recently renovated apartment that is modestly yet tastefully decorated.
Wi-fi internet connection is included as is (partial) use of the kitchen (see house rules for additional details; basically, occasionally warming up or consuming food in the apt is ok, but preparing and cooking it are not). There are laundry facilities in the building and an elevator to take you up to the 5th floor, where this sunny apartment is located. The room features a comfy queen-size bed, storage; towels and bedding are provided during your stay. There is one bathroom in the apartment (shared with the host) and a TV / DVD player in the living room.
Interaction with Guests
Your host knows and loves his city and will be happy to help you find your way around!
My place is also located a few minutes from Columbia University, top restaurants (including uber-trendy spots, such as Red Rooster, Maison Harlem, and tantalizing soul food eateries, like Melba's and Spoonbread), St-John the Divine Cathedral, the famous Apollo Theater, Grant's Tomb, the Cloisters, Lincoln Center, the Museum of Natural History and many of uptown's other landmarks. The Lasker swimming pool is also just a few quick steps away (in Central Park) and in the winter is converted into an ice skating rink.
A few steps from the B/C line, a few more minutes to the express 2/3, as well as the 1 and 6 trains. Taxis are easy to find at any time of the day on my street. You can be just about anywhere in the city easily and in a matter of minutes!
Other Things to Note
Host is GLBT-friendly. Je vous souhaite la bienvenue; sejam bem-vindos; bienvenidos a mi casa!
Note: Quoted rate is valid for one or two guests; an additional person may be accommodated for 35$ more per day (pls consult host). Weekly / monthly rates to be discussed. An additional 10$ late check-in fee will be charged for arrivals between midnight and 7am.
Cleanliness and order are expected (personal property should not be left in common areas of the apt); no excessive noise between midnight and 10am. Access to kitchen is limited to microwave oven, toaster, kettle / coffee-maker, one area in refrigerator, dish ware and cutlery. Dirty dishes and food are not to be left out. Bedding and towels are cleaned at the end of your stay or once / week if your stay exceeds seven days. The question of guests receiving visitors in the apt must be discussed with the host. Thank you!
We made the right choice for our two-night stay in NYC. Jean-Claude took the time to make us feel at ease in his apartment. Metro/underground is very close. We enjoyed a run in Central Park. Rented some bikes. We even found a parking spot for our car right in front.
Hôte très accueillant et disponible pour répondre à nos questions.
Jean-Claude a su se faire discret et être très arrangeant.
Son appartement est très bien placé, à 2 pas du métro.
La chambre est fonctionnelle, agréable et très calme.
Notre séjour à New York restera un super souvenir !
JC's place is just as advertised & pictured on ABnB! He is a great host. Checkin & checkout was very easy. JC was very accommodating - arrived around 1pm & was able to checkin & drop off my luggage.
Location, location, (email hidden)e apartment is literally across the street from Central Park and only steps to the subway. I flew into LGA took the M60 bus to the C line - less than 45 mins. & cost $6.00!
The common areas of the building - lobby and hallways - were very clean. It was nice having an elevator versus the typical NYC walk up.
The apt is quiet by NYC standards. There was some street/construction noise, but very quiet at night.
The apartment is clean and bright. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of his guest room. There was plenty of space for my luggage - a closet & 3 dresser drawers in the room. The bathroom is very clean. The water pressure is good with plenty of hot water, though the shower head was a little clogged, but not an issue. Sharing the bathroom with JC was not a problem during my 4 day stay. In fact, most mornings I didn't see JC. I highly recommend his place & will stay here the next time I'm in NYC.
Thanks JC for sharing your place! Cheers! Bill
Jean-Claude is a Golden host. He gives good tips and ideas to visit NYC area. The apartment is well located, near public transports, and well furnished. The neighborhood is nice, Broadway, 5th avenue, Madison Avenue, groceries & co are a few blocks away. The room is sunny, temperate and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay ! Thanks again John ;)
Great apartment, convenient location and very clean! Jean Claude was an awesome host and would definitely recommend his place!
Arrival was late and Jean-Claude was there to meet us. He provided us with a quick tour and all was in good order. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly both nights. We spent our waking hours or and about the city so it was great to have a place to retreat to when the day was done.
Jean claude fut un super hôte. Très gentil . C'était ma première expérience airbnb et c'était vraiment top.
L'appartement est très agréable et bien situé à deux pas du métro. Si je devais revenir à New York je reviendrais chez Jean claude Avec plaisir.
