We are located a short distance from downtown Vancouver in the much quieter Cedar Cottage community (about 10 minutes by car). There is plenty of free street parking around the house.
The area around the house is one of the cheapest parts of the city to eat out in. If you love asian foods, like pho, sushi, or chinese, you will be in nirvana. There are also some excellent Mexican, Central American, and even Portugese & Brazilian restaurants close by.
There is a new modern drug store located 1/2 a block away that sells almost anything you may need from packaged food items, to toiletries, magazines, medicine, and electronics.
Our home is at the intersection of many transit options, so getting around is very convenient. There are two Skytrain stations within walking distance (less than a 10 minute walk). Or jump on one of several nearby buses that connect with the Skytrain or take them directly to downtown, Stanley Park, UBC, Metrotown, Richmond, YVR Airport, or North Vancouver. Even Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge are easily accessible by transit. Commercial Drive and Main Street (~5-10 mins away) are both close by and full of trendy shops, restaurants and hipster hangouts.
My partner and I live here along with her curious and friendly son (7 years old). We really enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their travels, so don't be shy. There is usually one or two other guests in the house as well, which can be a great source of information if you compare stories. We will mostly provide you with privacy but if you have any questions or need assistance there is almost always someone around, please don't hesitate to ask.
You don't need to ask if the room is available. If it shows up on your AirBnB search, then it is available. Book immediately to avoid losing your priority! If the dates you want show up as not available, please check with us as there are often cancellations and other options that the calendar does not show.
BOOKING LAST MINUTE? NO PROBLEM. We can usually approve your request and grant access within a couple hours.
SINGLE NIGHT BOOKINGS only available by special request (send us a message) and must not be more than 5 days in advance unless at either end of another booking (check calendar).
Thank–you for your interest, and Happy Travels!

Brad was very quick at responding to my messages. He also let me book an extra night at the very last moment. Although I only met Brad briefly, he was a great host and happy to share knowledge. The place was clean and tidy, bed comfy! Quiet neighbourhood, not a few blocks from the busses into town.
I relocated to Vancouver and I stayed at Brad's place for the first month while I was settling down. Brad was very helpful and friendly. The place was very clean and the location is centralized. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the city.
Brad is one of the most helpful host my friends and I have ever met! If you haven't read the descriptions of this place, please take a look! Starting with the airbnb description and details, you will receive excellent, clear instructions on everything as you communicate with Brad. From direction & transportation services, to parking, to wifi connection, to access to laundry...every question we had was responded with quickness and clarity.
This suite comfortably fits 4 people (we requested an extra bedroom) and the place was nice and cozy to come home to after a long day of exploring beautiful Vancouver. We were here for the first snow in Vancouver, so it was very cold (most of us are from California)...but the heater system works perfectly and the heated-floor tiles was AMAZING! ALSO, for non-Canadians, Brad provides a wifi hotspot account, which was very helpful since we couldn't use our phones except in free public wifi areas.
When we met Brad and he gave us a plethora of information about the best things to do during our 3 night-4 day stay in Vancouver, and secrets to the best eateries in town.
Thanks so much Brad! We all fell in love with Vancouver BC and can't wait to come back.
Brad provided all the details prior to our arrival and the area had plenty of parking. Visiting from the states, it was very nice to have guest wifi access to the "shaw" network as this was so helpful to our stay. The suite was clean and very relaxing. Staying here made our stay more fun and enjoyable.
Brad`s Place was exactly as shown. Modern, with a kitchenette, big TV and easy access through a secure back door. I never had any problems getting around in Vancouver, with many bus routes running right by Brad`s place. I only met Brad once but he was very friendly and reminded me to let him know if I needed anything. He was also a big help before I got there with directions.
We stayed at Brad's apartment for two nights. After completing the booking we received quick confirmation and an email from Brad explaining things like access, WiFi etc more closely. We met Brad upon arrival, he is a nice guy, took his time to explain everything and showed us which public transportation we could use and how to get to the stops.
Apartment was clean and well kept. Bathroom is on the smaller side but workable.
Only negative thing was that the walls are quiet thin and until everyone went to bed it was a bit noisy as the entrance/hallway and another rented room where just separated by regular doors.
None the less I would stay at Brad's place again.
The suite is bright and clean. And the key code entry made check-in and out super easy. I would stay here again.

I've traveled a fair amount, but I'm always happy to return home to beautiful Vancouver. Some of my favorite places so far include; Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Costa Rica, Turkey, and Japan. I have many more yet to get to, and many more favorites to discover.
I'm pretty easy going and like meeting new people and hearing about their travels. I've already added several destinations to my "bucket list" based on our guests. I also enjoy some of the best things in life; such as football, snowboarding, a good movie (which is unfortunately rare), I hate television (but admit that Breaking Bad is awesome), and love a few video games. I think we are living through the most fabulous period of human existence and really think we should all just lighten up a bit.
As a host, I will pretty much let you decide what kind of experience you want. If you want to hang out and talk, I'm all for it but if you prefer to do your own thing and hang out in your room, that's cool too. I've lived in Vancouver my entire life, so I should be able to answer any question or make some suggestions for you, no matter what your looking for.
As a traveller, I usually don't have much of a plan. I prefer to meander and find the places that the locals enjoy. I often have no idea what I'm looking for until I'm standing right in the middle of it. I'd love any suggestions you may have!
Life motto? Really? Well, Steve Jobs adopted the best motto from the last issue of The Whole Earth Catalog, and I like to keep good company, so I'll say what he would say:
"Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish"
