The Space

Update June 24, 2014
Summer is officially here! In Lincoln that still means cool nights! We have had afternoon showers so green is the next "season". Join us in the hills for cooler days, lower humidity and low tech days!

Welcome to our Cottage!
Lincolnworks is a converted quilt shop in Historic Lincoln, NM. It is newly remodeled into an air conditioned efficiency apartment with a new bathroom with large shower and small kitchenette.
We have decorated since these photos...very cozy.

Lovely shaded porch that allows for sitting and rocking all day! If you are looking for serenity, solitude and quiet, this porch will measure up!

Wed through Saturday, mosey across the street for all those "city" kind of drinks....Frap, Latte, or let Annie concoct a delicious summer drink for ya! (non-acoholic, sorry)

Wrap up in the provided quilts and rock the evening away. Pretty sure you have never seen as many stars as you will see in Lincoln.

No gas stations, no grocery stores but lots of history of Billy the Kid. Just steps from Lincoln,NM Billy the Kid Visitor center, our cottage allows guests to experience all the sights of Lincoln including the Historic Courthouse, Torreon, Tunstall Store, and other historical buildings. Even though we are remote and historic, we have art galleries, a coffeehouse and a bit of shopping!

Be sure to brings some snacks and drinks for your stay. We provide popcorn, a chocolate treat, and Starbucks coffee, and a couple bottles of water, along with enough ice for a couple of drinks. The freezer can accommodate a small bag of ice.

Depending on the day of the week, breakfast and lunch maybe available in Lincoln. Ask about that @ booking.

Lincoln is centrally located for Southern New Mexico adventures including White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, or seasonal horse racing and skiing in nearby Ruidoso.

  • Becky, My Daughter and her husband loved the cottage. They have asked that we rent it again when they come back. It was a complete success, Thanks again!

  • Becky was wonderful and answered all of our (many) questions quickly and provided EXCELLENT recommendations. We couldn't have been happier with the Lincolnworks Cottage. It was the perfect getaway spot and the location is wonderful (close to all the historic buildings in Lincoln). We had a great time exploring Lincoln, NM and checking out the many historic sites. The cottage was clean, quiet and well-equipped. We had a great time! Thanks, Becky!

  • Lincolnworks was absolutely perfect. It was better than I could have imagined. Becky thinks of everything and she is so thoughtful in her preparations for your stay. The location is lovely and quiet. The space is beautifully furnished and decorated with thoughtful touches everywhere. The ability to store/heat food and wash dishes was a huge plus for us! I just can't say enough wonderful things about this place and Becky. It way exceeded our expectations!! We definitely would love to come back.

  • We had a wonderful experience during our stay at Lincolnworks. Becky was very friendly and yet allowed us our privacy only checking in on us to make sure all of our needs were met. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay this is the place. We truly enjoyed the tranquility and natural ambiance it provided.

  • Our time in the Lincolnworks Cottage was really amazing. We arrived late after a long day of driving. The lights were on and the back door was unlocked for us. We could hear a lightning storm approach so we wrapped ourselves in a beautiful antique quilt and watched the show from the covered front porch. We had a perfect night's sleep and woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sights of a perfectly kept historic town. Becky greeted us as well and we had a great conversation with her about the town and her personal story. We really would have loved to spend more time talking with her but sadly had another long day of driving ahead of us. Out of all the stops of our road-trip from SF to Austin and back, I would say that this was the most memorable and magical for us. Thanks to Becky for creating such a beautiful and well-kept place for guests to enjoy. One day, we hope to come back through Lincoln, if only to spend more time chatting and maybe learn a thing or two about quilting. :)

  • We just really loved staying in this cottage. It was so quaint, but simultaneously modern. We were just passing through Lincoln, but it made us want to come back and check out the town. If you want a romantic get-away with seclusion, this is the place for you. :)

  • We stayed here for a conference that was taking place in Ruidoso. It was a little bit of a drive but the ability to relax on the porch each night and sleep in a cozy cabin was well worth it. Becky did an amazing job of helping us out with routes and Restraunt suggestions the entire time we were there. Nothing more relaxing than seeing deer in the yard each morning as the sun pours down into the valley. Cannot wait to come back again!

I enjoy the slow pace of Lincoln with its rich history of Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County Wars. I may not know all the history but can make sure you meet the people who might. Quilting is a love, but would be considered a novice. Last book I read: "Great Gatsby"; Last movie I saw: "Capitan Phillips"; Last good meal: Hot Thai Soup!
