'Casa Nuestra' is located in Barranco, the bohemian and traditional district of Lima that offers lots to see and nice art galleries, coffees, restaurants and bars. We are 300 meters from the ocean view, few minutes from Miraflores district and 20 min by direct bus to the historical centre. We are an italian-peruvian couple that loves to travel and share and would like to offer you the possibility of enhance your stay in Lima by giving a familiar and personal attention to our guests. We have a peruvian hailess dog very nice that lives with us in the roof. We are eventually available for going out and show you around Lima and surroundings. We want casa Nuestra to be your home in Lima!
1. Kitchen and other common areas available to use
2. Breakfast is included only for stays of less that 7 days
3. Towels and linen are changed once a week for stays longer than a week. Consider earlier if requested
4. All bathrooms are equipped with trash cans. Unfortunately the pipes in Lima are not made to withstand the flushing of toilet paper. To avoid plumbing problems, use the trash cans.
5. Clean after yourself in the common areas (kitchen, living room, rooftop).
Francesco and Carmen were very accommodating and kind. The location of their beautiful home is in a low-key part of Lima, with lots of cafés and art galleries. The Centro is easily accessible on a big bus that is not far from the house. Breakfast was very nice, bedroom was clean and spacious. Carmen helped us book bus tickets to Huaraz last minute, which saved our entire trip from going down-hill. I would absolutely recommend staying with these guys if you can!!
Everything was perfect in Carmen & Francesco house. The room and bathroom was really clean and beautiful. The breakfast was perfect with fresh fruits, toasts, jam, fruits juice...
They gave us all informations and advices to spend a good journey in Barranco.
Carmen and Francesco were really nice and friendly.
I do not hesitate to recommend this place...
We had a lovely time at Francesco and Carmen's Casa Nuestra. The house has been decorated with great love and style and was a real pleasure to stay in. We most of all enjoyed being here because of the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. To boot, there is a silly dog, great breakfast (you may gain weight staying here :), a nice kitchen that can be used to make dinner and a handy map and personal introduction to Baranco which we think is the very best part of Lima.
I had a lovely two-night stay at Francesco and Carmen's B&B in Barranco. The house is clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and on a quiet residential street. Both were very welcoming hosts and had great advice for the neighborhood, which is also a really fun part of Lima to stay in.
The location and house were perfect I couldn't have asked for something more convenient. Carmen and her husband Francesco we're really nice without being overbearing. They really respect your privacy but if you need anything are available at anytime. When I came in my flight was really late and Carmen arranged for me to have a driver meet me at the airport and bring me to the house. The next morning she made breakfast with fresh fruit and bread and butter and really good preserves. It actually wasn't in our deal for her to give me breakfast because I was staying for an extended amount of time at a discounted rate but she had it there for me since I came in so late and that was really nice of her. Is really well decorated and feels like home. All of the staff that worked there were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make you feel at home.
The kitchen was made available for me to store food that I bought for myself but I will say the refrigerator is small in comparison to overindulgent Americans refrigerators lol just remember not to go shopping with a bulldozer. Use only what you need for that day unless you plan to share because otherwise you will occupy too much space. I would stay again anytime and am actually considering moving to Lima after my stay....it's a different lifestyle to be sure and one I could get used to.
My girlfriend and I had a beautiful relaxing stay at Francesco and Carmen's home. While they were away in Italy they left Claudia and her husband in charge of house duties and they were accommodating, informative and delightful company. Breakfast was simple fruit and fresh bread. The location was absolutely perfect to walk around and get lost. Being from NYC I couldn't help but compare it to Soho due to its bohemian yet urban appeal. Close to the museum of contemporary art and great affordable + trendy restaurants. We loved our stay so much we extended it another day! We look forward to returning to Lima and hopefully meeting Francesco + Carmen.
I chose to stay here because I wanted to live in Barranco, due to its atmosphere and location, as it has much more character and charm than being in miraflores or other central neighbourhoods. I had a good feeling about the place before I even arrived, and my experience far exceeded even my high expectations! I spent nearly 10weeks living at Casa Nuestra BnB whilst studying in Lima and even after my first few days it already felt like home. When I first arrived, francesco sat me down with a coffee and spent alot of time orienting me to the neighbourhood, advising me on how to get a phone simcard, and giving me many other practical pieces of advice that are necessary for a long stay. He even drove me to the supermarket and organic market to get my bearings and get orientated. He later helped me when I was buying a bicycle, and let me keep it in his truck every evening at night so the bike would be off the street & safe!) The room was so comfortable-a large space & comfortable bed, with a weekly clean & linen change, so it was always spotless. The shared bathroom was not an issue at all as it was shared with only one other room and was cleaned daily. My favourite thing about living at Casa Nuestra was the atmosphere: Francesco & Carmen went out of their way to make sure everyone felt welcome, even for people only staying 1 or 2days. The guests were often welcome to join them for a drink or even dinner & many an afternoon/evening were spent chatting & relaxing with them on the beautiful roof terrace. We would often go on outings together to the organic market, or the beach or out to dinner or lunch. I have never experienced such kindness & warmth from an airbnb host, (and I have only had wonderful experiences on airbnb in my 4years of using the site, so that is definitely saying something!) The house is beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture, peruvian crafts and modern art, and it was very homely, the windows let alot of natural light & air in. I spent alot of time at home studying in the kitchen by the window and it was never too noisy. Pacu, the big peruvian hairless dog, was a real character, and Leo (carmen & francesco's little boy) was a joy to be around. The type of traveller attracted to casa nuestra's location & vibe meant that all the other guests i encountered were lovely too, and I made some dear friends during my stay there. I was very sad to leave when the day came, but I know that I will visit again. And I recommend to anyone seeking a friendly, warm and unique experience in Lima to choose casa nuestra as a priority! Its the perfect base for a student or long term traveller, or even just a weekend break

About the Host, Francesco & Carmen
We are an italian-peruvian couple and we live in Lima. We like to travel, enjoy good music and art. We are use to share our house with our guests that come from all around the world.
We are living in Lima since 2011 and we adore to go looking for new, hidden places, not well know but that have an artistic, culinary or just tradition interest.
We have also a dog called Paq'u', a Peruvian year and half old dog, he is our security manager and crazy, lovely puppy of the house.
We adore to spend some weekend with him and guests that want to come with us in the surroundings of Lima to escape from the city and enter in different and amazing reality that this country offer.
