About This Listing
Cozy place blocks from the beach, steps from everything in Lincoln Park, & easy transit to anywhere else in Chicago.
** I'm currently hoping to find someone to stay while I'm traveling 7/24/2015–8/9/2015 **
Everything about this unit is great: it's on the top floor, there are windows on three sides, it's in a beautiful courtyard building, and it has paid-for, very warm, radiator heating. To top it all off, it's right near Clark & Fullerton, with tons of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops nearby and Lake Michigan just a 10-minute stroll away – you can even warm up amongst tropical plants in the nearby Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the butterfly garden at the Nature Museum.
If you wear out Lincoln Park, you're just a 10-minute walk from the Red Line, which can take you downtown to the Loop in just 15 minutes. Plus, other very convenient bus lines are right nearby, for getting everywhere else.
The office is a great place to get work done. Enjoy the Aeron chair and 24" Apple Cinema Display while pausing to watch passers-by on Fullerton, or gaze at the beautiful church across the street. And of course, there's super fast wireless internet.
The place comes fully-furnished with a couch, dining table, linens, and a beautiful fern-like plant. The building manager is extremely helpful, responsive, and kind, should you need any help with the place.
Just be clean and respectful. Treat it as you'd like someone to treat your place if you were staying there :)
Be aware that the apartment has "old world charm." It doen't have a few mainstream amenities such as a TV or microwave, and the air conditioner – should you choose to use it – is a window unit. I don't keep screens on the windows, so a few flies may come in on nice days. But, I love it this way, and hopefully you will, too.
Don't disturb the Kombucha jar :)
David was a great host. His listing is accurate and the location is convenient to some of the best Chicago has to offer. The apartment remained warm and comfortable throughout an extremely cold winter in Chicago. David was quick to respond in all communications.
I had a very nice stay at David's place. I spent two winter months in Chicago and the place was very warm throughout which I was very happy about! The space is cozy and bright and the location is very convenient - two blocks away from buses, grocery stores and a myriad of restaurants. Communicating with David was very easy - my arrival and departure were both seamless
The apartment was great! It had everything I needed and was comfortable to stay in. The location was great and made it easy to get anywhere. David was a great host and arranged everything perfectly for me.
David's place was beautiful and well-located. It is sun-filled and has all that visitor needs for an enjoyable stay including kitchenware and even a projector for watching movies. My parents stayed at David's place for a week and enjoyed the proximity of the apartment to the Fullerton stop as well as the myriad shops and restaurants on Clark St. The short walk to the beach is also excellent. David was thoughtful, helpful and eager to make everything work with keys and other logistics even though he was out of town during my parents' stay. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to explore Chicago.
About the Host, David
I live in Chicago, and I'm author of the book, "Design for Hackers," which teaches software developers about web design. I also blog about design and entrepreneurship.
I love trees, brick buildings, and beaches. They don't all have to be in the same place :)
I'm currently planning a book tour, so if I get in touch with you, that's probably why I'm planning to be in town. Sometimes I'll stay with friends, but sometimes I'm a big introvert and just need a place to myself for a bit.
I'm of course clean and respectful as well!
