Thank you for choosing The Plumeria as your lodging choice in Honolulu.
I was made to feel welcomed immediately as Richard and team go out of his way to answer any questions I had or any extra things I needed to make myself comfortable.
the listing is accurate as it says.
The plumeria was an excellent place for an active vacation. The shared kitchen is large enough to cook and enjoy company, and the rooms are small but very clean, quiet and well-kept.
On saturday we had a BBQ on the back yard, BYOB but Richard provided all the food. An excellent experience altogether, would definitely stay here again!
Clean, convenient, inexpensive lodging. I've been there twice in the last three years and I plan to stay there again when I return to Honolulu.
This was a great place to stay for a hostel alternative. The price was right, and fit the bill. I checked in late at night, so Richard had arranged another staff member to help get me checked in. I had chosen one of the smaller rooms for a week, with a single bed. There wasn't much natural light coming into the room, and I was told that I would get a room with cable tv. However when I checked in, I found that room wasn't available. It still worked out though, since I was out most of the day and some nights as well. I really just needed a place to sleep, and hold my things.
I had an immediate issue with my door lock not working properly, but once I brought it up, Richard had it fixed within 15 minutes! I didn't talk too much with my housemates, but they were all very friendly. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay for the price! The best part was the location. It's a very walkable area, with 24hr stores within a couple blocks, and bus stops within minutes. I felt safe walking in the area, and Richard was there when I needed something.
I had an awesome experience at the plumeria. Every one was very friendly and helpful.
Richard was a nice host and very helpful as well.

About the Host, Richard
My name is Richard Stancliff. I have served as host and manager at The Plumeria since April, 2011. I previously vacationed in Hawaii and loved it so much I now spend a good part of the year in Honolulu. At age 68, I'm semi-retired and find that this lifestyle fits very well. Some work in the mornings and early afternoons, then the beach and perhaps Waikiki. Does it get any better than this?
