Located midway between Waikiki and Downtown and on the main bus lines. Near stores and restaurants, about 10 blocks from beach. About 2 miles from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
This listing is for your own small, lockable, and furnished bedroom in a shared apartment. The apartment has a kitchen and bathroom that are shared with up to four other people. The rooms and apartments are clean, quiet (for the big city) and safe.
If the calendar shows your dates as unavailable, please inquire anyway, we may be able to make an offer for one of our other rooms. Also note that we generally require a ONE WEEK MINIMUM stay, but feel free to inquire if you are looking for a shorter stay.

The Plumeria provides a full kitchen (with stovetop, microwave, and fridge--no ovens) and bathroom for every 3 to 5 guest rooms, and we're careful not to exceed 5 guests for such facilities.
We have two outdoor social areas with barbecue facilities, and a mini-gym with exercise equipment.
Interaction with guests
Of course we will always be available to assist during our normal office hours. We provide an "emergency" phone number to access our on-call person, generally available 24 hours/day. And I personally am pretty good at checking email twice a day: (EMAIL HIDDEN)
We have some resources for touring you can access in the office; and, weather permitting, we host a barbecue every Saturday for our guests so that they may meet other travelers.
Other things to note
We are in the "Big City", and on a busy street. We're peaceful and quiet compared to most of Waikiki, and are a bit of an oasis of green compared to most of the alternatives...however, there is a lot of city noise and, particularly in the evenings until 9 or 10 PM, a large amount of traffic.

By renting at The Plumeria, you agree to comply with the policies below:
A. Damages/Losses. You are responsible for rent arrearages, and for any damages, losses, and/or missing items, at an amount deemed fair and just by the Plumeria staff.
B. Quiet Hours START at 10 pm; visiting hours END at 11 pm-- no noise at a level that disturbs others is permitted at any time, and you must be responsible for all of your visitors (TWO maximum at any time, and they must also observe the House Rules and may not visit the premises when you are not here). Special arrangements must be made with management for any exceptions to this rule. You must let our manager, staff, or the appropriate authorities such as the police, fire dept., etc. know in case of any emergencies or if anyone is being inconsiderate and will not respond to reasonable requests for compliance to said House Rules.
C. Polite, considerate behavior is a MUST! This is shared housing, and adjustments must be made to accommodate other guests and the housemates here. There are live-in staff, long-term residents, and multiple guests at any given time.
Since this is shared housing situation, we ask that your actions keep this place peaceful, functional, and harmonious.
As for food, please clearly label and use only your own food or items clearly marked or indicated free. Do not eat others’ food.
Also, we ask for your considerate actions in our common spaces:
•Clean up after yourself immediately when finished in the kitchen, community areas, and bathroom
•Please do NOT monopolize the bathroom and be judicious with electricity and water usage
•Cooperate with others in general.
The Plumeria is a NO-SMOKING establishment—PLEASE step outside and use the smoking areas (with ash cans) for any smoking
D. This should go without saying, but here goes anyway: Illegal or obnoxious behavior will not be tolerated, and AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON, The Plumeria staff may refund your current day's rent (and any future rent you may have advanced) and require you to leave. The Plumeria reserves the right to refuse to rent to anyone, at our reasonable discretion.
Your occupancy dates will be those you have reserved online or by phone. Any change in plans to shorten or extend a stay must be made to us in person or by email, 24-hours in advance, to be considered for a refund. Refunds given only before 5 days of reservation date. After that, the first night's payment is not refundable, and all refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee, so please be certain about your plans prior to reserving.
Due to excess time and energy for repeated check or cash payments, we will now charge a $5.00 service fee for guests who make repeated changes and/or pay one day at a time.
In addition, I agree to the following terms:
I AGREE THAT I WILL NOT TOUCH OR ADJUST ANY MODEMS OR ROUTERS IN MY UNIT, AND WILL NOT GIVE OUT ANY PASSWORDS.
LIABILITY RELEASE: I ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR, AND WILL HOLD THE PLUMERIA AND ITS EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS HARMLESS, FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES OF MY USE OF YARDS AND OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT.

My name is Richard Stancliff. I have served as host and manager at The Plumeria since April, 2011. I previously vacationed in Hawaii and loved it so much I now spend a good part of the year in Honolulu. At age 68, I'm semi-retired and find that this lifestyle fits very well. Some work in the mornings and early afternoons, then the beach and perhaps Waikiki. Does it get any better than this?
