About this listing
Perfect resting spot between LA and San Francisco. Large private master bedroom on top floor of 3 story condo with private bathroom. Clean, quiet and comfortable. 2 miles to downtown, 15 min drive to beaches and wineries.
This is a large private master bedroom with attached full bathroom (double sinks and a tub) on the top floor (no elevator). There is a double bed and futon, so we can accommodate 4 guests. We pride ourselves on a clean comfortable living situation. The room has a coffee maker and some breakfast goodies. Internet access is available. There is a tv in room (gets a few channels) with DVD player but no cable. As the room is on the top floor it can get a little hot, there is a ceiling fan and window fan in the room and nights in SLO are pretty cool. There is a $20 deposit on a guest parking pass that we will have for you upon arrival and will return when we get the pass back at the end of your stay. You must use the pass at night or chance getting towed.
Guest will have access to the kitchen, living room, and small patio. Make yourself at home!
Interaction with Guests
Our goal is to be present when you arrive to welcome you into our home and give you the tour. However, that doesn't always happen as we are also very busy. We will be in touch and available for any questions and will send you instructions prior to your arrival. The bedroom is very private and quiet.
Our immediate neighborhood is working towards development and has some wonderful things within walking distance. Great Thai restaurant, movie rental store, great pizza restaurant, diner, wine tasting room, and a small brewery across the street. There is a homeless shelter around the corner but the area is safe. We are on a train tracks intersection so you get to enjoy the train horns at times. If you are outside you just take a break from talking for a few seconds, when inside you barely hear it. Also they are starting construction on building more town homes in the complex and there is construction noise, hours of work are on a M-Sat 7a-6p schedule. If the window is closed you won't hear much.
There is a bus stop within a block, there is first come first serve guest parking, street parking across the road (busy street to cross not ideal), residence is close to the airport and train station we would be willing to pick up and drop off whenever we possibly could. We do have bikes that can be borrowed (with a security deposit) to ride around town and are very close to a bike path that drops you off right by the train station and downtown.
Other Things to Note
San Luis Obispo is an amazing small town with lots of charm, you will fall in love with it. The county also has many fun things to do and see and we love exploring it so have great recommendations for food, drinks, hikes, beaches, and many other things. In room there is a hair dyer and other small travel items.
We require that you have created a profile with picture and have verifications through Airbnb to book, this is very simple process though for new users. We have 2 indoor cats and a smaller dog, they won't try to run out the door so no worries. You can keep your door shut and the cats won't bother you at night or keep your door open and see if they will cuddle with you. Our dog is wonderful, adorable, and many people comment on how amazing he is but he does bark and will bark at you each time you come home or down stairs. We have treat by the front door and the command is "enough" if he stops barking for a few seconds he gets a piece of the treat. He loves to cuddle on laps and lick faces, slower to warm up to males and kids. He isn't to be on the couch or eat people food. We don't allow smoking in the house but out the front door. Also we ask that you don't wear shoes in the house. You must use the guest parking pass provided or you will get towed from the lot.
About the Host, Marissa
Adventurous couple, who loves animals, outdoor activities, wine tasting, and the beach. My passion is roller derby and play on a league here on the central coast (CCRD). We love to travel and see new places. I work for a nonprofit that works with high risk youth as a supervisor. Nate is the tech support manager for a local software company. We are certified temporary foster parents. My life motto is if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. We like to have a glass of wine in the evenings but generally pretty early to bed and medium early to rise.
