This is the perfect apartment to stay near the train station, near the sea, downtown and with easy access to the bus station! The rooms are comfortable with a beautiful terrace, highly significant during the summer! Just enjoy it!

The Space

A nice two bedrooms appartment which can easily fit 4 persons only (we usually do not accept above 4 persons).
The appartment provides basics like wifi internet, cable TV (BBC..), 2 bedroom, 1 living room with a bar and a well-equipped american style kitchen, a very nice 25 square meter terrasse,1 bathroom, 1 toilet.

Towels and bedsheets are provided.

Landlord speaks fluently English and can provide you with all the information you will need!

Except July and August, we do not accept late check in after 8pm. Sorry about the inconvenience.

P.S: Only one key will be provided. For a second key, you will have to deposit an extra amount of 200 euros (refundable)

Guest Access

The building is located at the corner of the longest avenue in Nice called "le Boulevard Gambetta". This is a cosmopolitan and busy area of Nice.

It is located 16 mn walk by the sea (1.6km to the promenade des anglais), close to the main shopping avenue (avenue jean-médecin), the restaurants, cinemas, markets, shops, boulangerie, train station, tramway and cycles for hire are available in front of the building.

Interaction with Guests

Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss about check in details or regarding information on the Apartment or Nice.

The Neighborhood

Local attractions and distances: 5 mn walk to the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 10mn walk to "les chemins de fer de provence" which brings you in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence from Nice to Digne. I highly recommend it ((website hidden)), "vieux Nice" which is the old town (3.5km/ 15 mn by walking distance and tram. Flower markets, shops, pubs and narrow streets), the Matisse museum (3 km; 39mn by bus) and finally Rue de France Pedestrian Zone (1,3 km; 16 mn walk or 5 mn by bus. ) The Nice pedestrian zone, or "zone pietonne," is a hub of activity. This is the place if you need to load up on souvenirs. Street entertainers frequent this area. There are gourmet shops, clothing shops, news stands, bookstores and more.

Getting around

Bus n°23 drops you in front of the airport (10km; around 16mn by car or 35 mn by bus) or the main train station (1.2km; 14mn walk or 5mn by bus) for 1.5 euro only!
There is no private parking or no indoor private parking. The closest is at the train station (average of 50 euros for 3 days). You will have to park in the street (secured because under camera surveillance!) or in the two outdoor parking places in my neighborhood.

  • Sebastien is a kind host. He has capability to handle everything even though he is not in Nice. He is easy to communicate with and quickly responses. The apartment is nice and clean as seen in the pictures. I love the garden patio. It is spacious and full of breeze. Grocery store is just across the road and a supermarket is not far from the apartment. Bus no.23 near the apartment gives the direct access to the Nice Côte d'Azur airport. I was happy spending my holiday here. Thank you Sebastien. I highly recommend this apartment.

  • First of all - communication with Sebastien was perfect, he was kind and helpful.

We were greeted at the apartment by his mother, lovely old french lady, who spoke surprisingly good English.

The flat is exactly as described and comfortably accommodates 4 people.

This said there are few things a visitor should know:
    1. the flat, although well located is in a neighborhood which is not very nice and I would not recommend it for a group of girls or a couple (although a couple of streets away there is a completely different NICE) - this may be a personal point of view, but was shared by all 4 of us. On the other hand everything is a bit cheaper there (food, accomodation...)
    2. the flat (in particular the main bedroom) is noisy at night, so not a good place for light sleepers - people walking around talking and particularly the noisy street Gambetta (bring your earplugs)
    3. The elevator in the building is quite old and we got stuck in it around midnight and have to climb out in between the floors, which was not pleasant (we had to have a couple of drinks to get fixed...)

These are I believe important information which may help people to decide, per se they are not negative, but they may discourage some people.

Otherwise the stay was perfect (fantastic terrace and a grocery store and a bakery just in front) and unless you are bothered by the above mentioned I would recommend Sébastien's place for your stay in Nice.

    Response from Sébastien:

The entire Gambetta neighborood is a very cosmopolitan area (as specified in my description). We had many girls, couples and families who stayed here without any single unpleasant remark or problem so far.

I agree, Gambetta is a noisy and busy street. I insist on the fact that the building is right in the center of Nice, and like most of centers, it is a bit noisy, specially during the summer season.

The maintenance of the elevator was done at the end of July. There is nothing I can do to predict that kind of very unfortunate incident. But I sincerely apologise about that discomfort, this was very bad luck.

  • Sebastien was extremely kind and communicative throughout our whole experience. The apartment was ideal, clean and central. I would not hesitate to recommend Sebastien's apartment to others.

  • We loved Sebastien and his apartment! The apartment itself was clean, spacious and walking distance from the beach. My friends and I especially loved the patio old record player in the apartment! Sebastien was a great host and very helpful.

  • Sebastien is a great host and I would definitely recommend his apartment to everybody. Apartment is very cosy and has amazing terrace where you can eat breakfast in the morning, drink wine or just relax :) It is only a 10 min walk from the main street with all shops and about 15-20 min walk from the beach. During our stay we never used buses and were just enjoying the walks around. Sebastien was really taking care if we have a nice stay and even informed us during our stay about Fireworks and concerts during the 14th of July, about which we wouldn't know otherwise. So one more time thank you very much for everything! It was pleasure to meet you and your family!

  • A very nice flat in Nice!!! We very enjoyed our stay in Nice and at the Côte d'Azur. We visited some Cities there like Cannes, Antibes and Grasse by bus. That is a very cheap way to visit the beautyful cities at the Côte d'Azur. We will come back again!
Thank you for the nice stay in your flat in Nice. If we come back to Nice we will look for your flat.

  • Sebastien was a very understanding host and went out of his way to accommodate us. Sebastien's Mother was also lovely to deal with and very helpful. The apartment itself is beautiful and comfortable. The terrace is definitely a highlight and great to enjoy the good weather. Not too far from the tram into old Nice and around the corner from a bus straight to the airport. I would recommend staying here.

  • We were met by Sebastien's lovely mother who showed us around the apartment and told us how things worked - this was very helpful.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. A short walk takes you to shops and buses and it is also a nice walk to the train station.
I would very much recommend to others.
Thank you Mr & Mrs (hidden) for your help, also thank you Sebastien for the use of your home.

  • We had a fantastic, enjoyable and memorable stay at Sebastien's apartment. We found the location very convenient, away from the busy touristy area, but close enough to the city centre and the beach, so we could walk to both, instead of catching the always packed bus. The food stores, bakeries and fruit shops are minutes away. Sebastien has been fantastic to deal with, very friendly and helpful in any way possible. Our kids say that Nice was their favorite place to stay and the apartment was the nicest they had been to, this pretty much sums it up. The terrace is fantastic, an ideal place to relax in the evening or have breakfast. We all hope we will come back some time in the future and the flat will be available for us to stay. Thank you Sebastien.

About
I am from Nice. I have two children. We love to travel and so far our favorite countries are India, Nepal, Thaïland, Malaisia, Singapore, and Italy. Our favorite towns: Paris, London, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Milan. If time and money allows it, we want to keep renovating the apartment and continue travelling . We love to express and communicate in English with people. We love Indian and Italian food! Despite having dirty streets ( due mainly to dogs!!) , Nice is with no doubt one of the nicest city in the world with the best weather in Europe. People are also more less relaxed and ready to help you. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We occasionally rent our house to reliable and nice people. "Mi casa es su casa"
