Our beautiful, modern, comfortable house is designed in an eco-friendly manner in harmony with nature. It is an ideal place to relax and also a base to explore the area which is in a beautiful part of Panama near a cloud forest national park with amazing hiking to waterfalls and local communities. The house is large, sleeping 12, within 17 acres of forest with rivers for swimming. We can arrange tours and hosted retreats for yoga, cooking and more.
The space
Only 3 hours from Panama City the house is a refuge of peace surrounded by amazing nature. It has a very special eco-design and has been published in various leading architectural magazines in US and Europe. The house looks out onto beautiful landscapes, with the sound of the rivers flowing below. The house is large, sleeping 12, with four bedrooms each with its own private terrace. At the centre of the house is an infinite saltwater swimming pool overlooking the forest, with floodlights for night relaxation.
The property has a river along its borders, with swimming spots, deep pools, mini waterfalls, no one else around. The house benefits from a positive natural energy from the flowing river to the breeze, the sunrises, starry nights - pure eco-therapy.
We also have a large open kitchen, bbq and a fire pit for enjoying meal times. We have have chickens for fresh eggs and friendly dogs.
We highly recommend using the house as a base for exploring this undiscovered part of Panama. We can help organize itineraries from 1-10 days with local guides for hiking to cloud forest and waterfalls, agrotourism, ecological tours, artisanal coffee making, white water rafting, and meals with a prominent local eco chef. We have also hosted retreats for yoga, cooking as well as kids camps and family reunions. The house is also great just for families and friends to hang out.
Guest access
The master bedroom is 36 m2 with ensuite bathroom and private covered terrace. Second bedroom has two double beds, third bedroom has three single beds and share the same bathroom. These bedrooms each have a door allowing access to the forest outside the house. The final bedroom has one double and a sofa bed. The fourth bedroom is on a corner and overlooks the pool and has vistas of the mountains. It has a bathroom adjacent. We have a gas water heater for hot showers.
Other things to note
The house was constructed with materials from the historic US military bases in Panama City. There is no air conditioning as the house has been bio-designed to maximize natural airflow. As the house is in the mountains in a forest reserve there is wildlife and sometimes creatures like bats can come into the house. If you enjoy nature then this is the place for you!

Where you’ll be
El Copé, Provincia de Coclé, Panama
The area, known as El Cope, is convenient to the City but not highly visited so you get a chance to really see and connect with traditional Panama. The town of Cope is 10 minutes up the road from the house and has local supermarkets and basic places to eat. Further up the mountain is the Las Yayas waterfalls which are amazing. And then at the end of the road, approx. 30-40 mins from the house, is the national park. You can also do hiking from nearby Santa Marta. And we can put you in contact with experienced hiking guides. The larger town of Penonome with a good variety of modern supermarkets and restaurants is only 30 minutes away. And Pacific beaches around an hour from the house.

Lives in Panama
I am a Panamanian married to a English man living in Panama :) We have 2 children and we love to spend time in our house in the mountains. The house and the property are one of our live project. There we can do and create what we like. We both like spending time in nature but also spend time trying to conserve it. My husband works as an environmental economist as a job. I re do things with waste and recycling materials (you will see a few pieces at the house). The house itself is made by reuse wood.
When we are not at the farm, we like to visit other places in Panama and other countries .
I also like doing yoga, meditate, read, cook, lately also interested in growing plants and my own vegetables!
I consider myself as a social person and I am happy to know people from other countries and with different back grounds and interests.
