This stay is amazing; words simply can't describe how beautiful Rhonda's place is. Surrounded by lush greenery, awesome view of the ocean, sounds of nature n pool water trickling, the villa is the best we have experienced so far in Hawaii. Rhonda is an exceptional host - she took time to meet & greet us and made us feel so very welcome in her home the first time we met. The place is very beautifully decorated , clean, full of character but it's such a pity that we only stayed for 1 night. Rhonda even prepared breakfast for us and it was such a good spread. We had a relaxing breakfast looking at the ocean & enjoying morning breeze at the balcony outside our room. Perfect experience!
Highly recommended that you stay over here & experience it for yourself!
Rhonda was extremely nice. She went out of her way to help us figure out what to do on the island. We spent 4 days trying to figure out how to swim with dolphins, and she helped guide us on the fourth day to the right beach where we swam off shore to swim with 25 dolphins! She's also just very nice -- she invited us out to eat at her expense. The house is in a great location for hiking and snorkeling and kayaking. There's also a few very highly reviewed restaurants around -- like Da Poke Shack. Would definitely stay here again!!
This was my first experience with airbnb and we were completely blown away by how welcoming and attentive Rhonda was from the initial communication to her consistent above and beyond hosting ability to make us feel more like family or longtime friends. She went above and beyond helping us to experience everything the island has to offer. What an amazing place! I can't imagine a better host. Her home is beautiful and situated in a perfect place with a garden and fresh, home grown Kona coffee she served with banana bread daily. We miss her already and will definitely be back!
Rhonda has a beautiful home and made us feel very welcome in it. She was a friendly and helpful host. The breakfast food she provided was great as was the information she gave us about local eating places. We had a great time at her b and b. Thanks Rhonda.
Rhonda's home is easy to access and is beautiful inside and out! Inside, the home is open, bright, and has beautiful views of the ocean. Having access to kitchen supplies to prepare breakfast was wonderful. Breakfast on the lanai was relaxing! The room we stayed in was clean and provided a mini-fridge and private lanai. We shared a bathroom with other guests and this was not a problem. Rhonda made us feel very welcome. She gave us a tour of the home and spent time interacting with us - sharing stories and telling us about favorite beaches. She even helped us with our visit to the nearby Painted Church for Palm Sunday Mass. After mass, we did visit a beach that she highly recommended. Just as she said, the beach as easy to access and the water was easy to enter (sand) with coral and fish along the rocky sides of the beach. If we had more time, we would have visited more beaches in this area. This home is a lovely place to stay and is close to good beaches for snorkeling. Rhonda knows the area and is good at making recommendations for guests!
Rhonda is an excellent hostess! Her house is just beyond our expectation. We arrived just before sunset, and her large living room with a perfect oceanfront view made our sunset experience so memorable. Our room was clean and tidy. Rhonda was also very helpful with offering information on choosing the perfect beach for timid snorklers like us, and where to dine out and shop around. She was kind enough to lend us the snorkeling fins though we didn't use them in the end. The location of her house was great, just beside the highway but close to several beach areas in the west.
The expression may be worn out but Rhonda’s place in Captain Cook really felt like home away from home to us. We spend four nights at Rhonda’s beautiful home in March 2015 and couldn’t have imagined a better start to our Hawaiian holiday.
Rooms and the whole house are impeccably clean and well maintained. We had the room with sea and pool view and access to patio.
Breakfast has been praised in other reviews and well deservedly so. Homemade fruit jams and pastries with cereals, yogurt, bagels and eggs gets you well fed on the road.
We took full advantage of Rhonda’s beach gear. Ask nicely and you can borrow snorkeling gear, coolers, beach towels, beach mats and boogie boards. There are a lot of good snorkeling spots within 15-30 minutes’ drive and she was very helpful to point them out to us.
AirBnB’ing is always a personality issue when the host lives on the premises. We clicked wonderfully with Rhonda and had great time with her. We’ll definitely stay here again if ever get back to Big Island.

About the Host, Rhonda
I have thoroughly enjoyed living on the island of Hawaii since 2002 and selected this destination after extensive traveling which included home exchanges in many countries.
To live everyday in total excitement and contentment with what the day has to offer became my mission.
Water quality and accessibility for swimming was at the top of my priority list.
I thank the Universe each and every day for allowing all of my life dreams, and more than I ever was able to imagine to come to fruition.
My passions are swimming, coffee farming, growing tropical fruits, vegetables, and flowers, as well as creating jams, jellies and liqueurs with the fruits of my little farm.
Operating a Guest House on my property became a dream that I am proud to see becoming a reality. I find it a total honor to live on this piece of paradise and feel totally compelled to share. What a great playground!!
I believe my success is based upon my guests enjoyment during their holiday. It is my desire to assist each of my guests in experiencing Hawaii in all its glory.
I welcome you to come share my most favored place in the whole wide world.
Today is the Best Day of the Rest of My Life. Come make it yours.
I want to Thank each and every one of my guests who have written such outstanding reviews on my behalf. Thank you all for your support, encouragement, validation, and your part in my dream coming to fruition with such wonderful memories and experiences. I has been my total pleasure to have shared such good times with each and every one of you.
