Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, this beautifully renovated home offers vintage charm with modern amenities. Located just across the Ohio River from Louisville, only 6.6 miles from the Kentucky International Convention Center, 7 miles from the KFC YUM! Center, 12 miles from Churchill Downs, and 7 blocks from shops and restaurants in historic downtown New Albany, IN, the Bough House is close to everything the Louisville region offers, with the peace of a quiet historic street.

The space
Welcome to the Bough House! Offering modern amenities and design, this historic home has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and comfortably sleeps six people with two queen beds and a pull out bed with a memory foam mattress! The fully stocked kitchen includes everything you need to cook a meal, while the large dining table seats eight people. There is a pack-and-play if you are traveling with small children, and a park with a playground just one block away. The front door has a coded lock, providing for the ease of keyless entry, and the long driveway can hold up to four cars. Our Roku TV gives guests free access to Netflix and HULU, while our TV antenna provides basic channels that provides access to local news and major sports games. Help yourself to all our full size appliances, as well as provided coffee, tea and snacks! In the bathroom, hotel-sized soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided for each guest, as well as an amenity kit in case you forgot a toothbrush, toothpaste, or lotion. Please let us know if there is anything else we can provide to make your stay more comfortable!

Guest access
The Bough House has an unfinished attic space and basement. The attic space is locked for safety purposes for families traveling with children (the key is hanging in the landing to the basement if needed). The door to the basement is not locked, allowing for access to the circuit panel if needed, but otherwise should not be used by guests. There is a space in the back of the house that is our art studio. This space has a separate outside entrance and is closed off from the main house. From in the house, it is accessed by the pocket door to the left of the refrigerator which is locked during guest stays. We don't use this space during guest stays but may occasionally need to grab something if needed.

New Albany, Indiana, United States

Did you know that New Albany, Indiana used to the be the wealthiest city in Indiana? Located right on the Ohio River, this 200 year-old city has beautiful historic buildings and a lively downtown. Visit the great local boutiques and restaurants and shop at our great farmer's market in the spring and summer! The name of our home is taken from the street on which it is located, Cedar Bough Place. The entire street and every home on it, are on the National Register of Historic Places. Just one of a handful of private streets that still exist in New Albany and considered to be one of New Albany's most prestigious addresses, Cedar Bough Place has beautiful historic features, including a brick-framed entrance and homes in several styles, including Queen Anne, American Foursquare, Bungalow, and composite cottages dating back to 1890. The Bough House interior design highlights the history of this small city, including historical photographs and maps.
