We are located a short distance from downtown Vancouver in the much quieter Cedar Cottage community (about 10 minutes by car). There is plenty of free street parking around the house.

The area around the house is one of the cheapest parts of the city to eat out in. If you love asian foods, like pho, sushi, or chinese, you will be in nirvana. There are also some excellent Mexican, Central American, and even Portugese restaurants close by.

There is a new modern drug store located 1/2 a block away that sells almost anything you may need from packaged food items, to toiletries, magazines, medicine, and electronics.

Our home is at the intersection of many transit options, so getting around is very convenient. There are two Skytrain stations within walking distance (less than a 10 minute walk). Or jump on one of several nearby buses that connect with the Skytrain or take them directly to downtown, Stanley Park, UBC, Metrotown, Richmond, YVR Airport, or North Vancouver. Even Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge are easily accessible by transit. Commercial Drive and Main Street (~5-10 mins away) are both close by and full of trendy shops, restaurants and hipster hangouts.

My partner and I live here along with her curious and friendly son (6 years old). We really enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their travels, so don't be shy. There is usually one or two other guests in the house as well, which can be a great source of information if you compare stories. We will mostly provide you with privacy but if you have any questions or need assistance there is almost always someone around, please don't hesitate to ask.

If the dates you want are available, book immediately to avoid losing your priority! You don't need to ask if the dates are available – we'll let you know if there is any conflict. If the dates you want show up as not available, please check with us as there are often cancellations and other options that the calendar does not show.

Thank–you for your interest, and Happy Travels!

  • This is a perfect place to stay. Stay here.

  • I was visiting Vancouver solo for a few days, at the beginning I started in a hotel in downtown which it was a huge mistake, it was expensive and didn't even had a microwave or a refrigerator to reheat my leftovers and store some milk. At the last minute I decided to book at Brad's, it was really convenient, their home is really clean and the room very spacious, its got everything you need. When I booked the room Brad responded right away providing clear instructions, he and Jodie are very easy going, so I will definitely recommend to stay at their place!

  • Turning the idea of "You get what you pay for" on its head! You pay very little, but get plenty! Brad is a great host, really flexible, and the only way he could have been more helpful is if I hadn't previously lived in and repeatedly visited Vancouver (he offered up some great local knowledge, but I was already in pretty good shape). The house is clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal. Ten minutes' walk to the train or a choice of buses even closer makes the transit access is hard to beat. Overall, a great experience!

  • Brad was a great host: friendly, warm & welcoming, respectful of personal privacy, accommodating & a clear & prompt communicator. It's a lovely home in a quiet area & my room was perfect for what I needed while staying in Vancouver. The city wifi was very helpful, the keyless lock ingenious & I had a wonderful stay during my three days. Thanks, Brad!

  • Brad, was a great host, i arrived late into Vancouver and needed somewhere last minute, Brad was able to accept my booking last minute and was very accommodating during my stay. Room was exactly what i needed and very clean, As a host Brad was great to communicate with, friendly and approachable. Thanks for having me stay!

  • This was my second stay at Brad and Jody's place. Last year I had no complaints, hence my second visit. This year, however, I was hugely disappointed. The floors were dirty, the toilet bowl was filfthy, the sink and tub had not been cleaned and had globs of shampoo and soap on them, the bed had no mattress cover and no top sheet, the table beside the bed needed to be wiped down.
Moreover, Brad accepted my reservation without letting me know that he and other members of his family were either sick or recovering from being sick. A heads up would have been nice.

  • Erik was very pleased with the accommodation at Brads and he is a great host.

  • I stayed for 1 month with them and I have to say that Brad and his family are great and very friendly. The house is very confortable, the fast internet is a plus. It's close of everything and Brad shared all his experience of good and cheap restaurant around. It was a pleasure stay with them!

  • This was my first airbnb stay and I was very happy with everything. The place was easy to find, clean, with free parking, and close to all attractions. Brad was very accomodating, telling us about good places to eat and visit. I would recommend this place without reservation.

  • Brad was a great host. Friendly, welcoming, and very helpful - he gave me a rundown of good and cheap eats in the vicinity, very useful if you're travelling on a budget. My single room was clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the house. I'd definitely recommend staying here!

I've traveled a fair amount, but I'm always happy to return home to beautiful Vancouver. Some of my favorite places so far include; Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Costa Rica, Turkey, and Japan. I have many more yet to get to, and many more favorites to discover. I'm pretty easy going and like meeting new people and hearing about their travels. I've already added several destinations to my "bucket list" based on our guests. I also enjoy some of the best things in life; such as football, snowboarding, a good movie (which is unfortunately rare), I hate television (but admit that Breaking Bad is awesome), and love a few video games. I think we are living through the most fabulous period of human existence and really think we should all just lighten up a bit. As a host, I will pretty much let you decide what kind of experience you want. If you want to hang out and talk, I'm all for it but if you prefer to do your own thing and hang out in your room, that's cool too. I've lived in Vancouver my entire life, so I should be able to answer any question or make some suggestions for you, no matter what your looking for. As a traveller, I usually don't have much of a plan. I prefer to meander and find the places that the locals enjoy. I often have no idea what I'm looking for until I'm standing right in the middle of it. I'd love any suggestions you may have! Life motto? Really? Well, Steve Jobs adopted the best motto from the last issue of The Whole Earth Catalog, and I like to keep good company, so I'll say what he would say: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish"
