Privat bedroom, one big bed, in modern appartment. This is my home. You can stay as a house guest with privat bath. Coffee and tea is free and breakfast can be arranged. I am happy to help with information.
This is a quite new appartment on two floors. As the hostess live her, the guest will be like a home guest. The bedroom for rent is small, but the bed is good and spacy.
The guest will use one of the appartments two bathrooms. You are welcome to use the kitchen and the livingrooms. We can sit down at the coffeetable and talk, and I will gladly tell you about Tromsø.
Interaction with Guests
As the hostess live here, it will naturally be some interaction with guest. Meals can be eaten together if wanted. The main thing is that the guest feel comfortable and treat my home with respect.
I love the light, the open view and the terraces. In the winter it is a nice spot to see the aurora.
Bus no 40 goes near the house. One direction takes you to the airport in 10 min. The other direction takes you to the centre of town in 7 min.
It takes 30 minutes to walk to the centre.
Other Things to Note
I den mørke årstiden er det mulig å få fine bilder av nordlyset fra takterrassen.
It is a single room and it is not allowed to bring in someone.
No loud music allowed.
Feel at home.
I stayed at Astrid's place for 4 nights and I would highly recommend her place for all tourists who would like to visit Tromso. Her home is very clean and the room is perfectly cozy! For a person who hasnt seen snow for the past 5 years, the view of mountains covered with white blanket through the room is stunning! I was also lucky enough to be able to see the nothern lights at her terrace the first night I arrived. Besides, Astrid is a very friendly, warm and caring person. She was being very helpful by offering me good and useful sight-seeing advice. It was so touching she even lent me her boots when she saw me wear improper winter shoes. She was afraid that I would feel freezing. I really appreciate all her help and her hospitality. Thank you very much Astrid. :)
Nice place and great host
Though the wheather was not easy for travel, I had good time in her home
I have walked btw her home and city center several times. It took almost 30 min and not difficult to find the way.
Warm welcoming and kind explanation.
I cannot tell enough how much I enjoyed my stay at Astrid's place. I felt like I stayed with a friend, all was thanks to how Astrid received me. We had very nice and pleasant talks whereby she shared her wealth of interesting and wonderful experiences. I have also learnt a lot about Tromso, Norway and its peoples from different regions. Very enriching and enlightening stories.
Astrid gave me very useful advice, she knows everything about Tromso and is very advanced in hi-tech.
Astrid's place is convenient, only a few minutes from the airport as well as the city centre by bus. It also has fabulous balconies for sitting outside and enjoy the view of the sea and part of the city, and of course the Northern lights, which I was lucky to enjoy the evening before I left Tromso on the balkony of Astrid's house.
The appartment is cosy, warm and very neatly kept.
I will definitely be promotingTromso to my network and of course will recommend Astrid's place to every solo traveller who wants to come and visit Tromso.
Astrid welcomed me into her home for a week during my stay in Tromso. I felt right at home in Astrid's apartment which has great views towards the surrounding mountains. On arrival Astrid gave me a detailed run down on her apartment, all the attractions to see in Tromso and how to get around.
Daylight hours in Tromso are few at this time of year, so when I wasn't out seeing the sites I was quite happy to relax in the apartment. Astrid has great stories to tell of her travels and time spent working abroad and shared with me her vast knowledge of the Tromso area.
The apartment is conveniently located between the airport and the city, both of which are within comfortable walking distance so I never needed to take the bus. Fantastic views from the roof terrace, where on one night I was able to see the Northern Lights.
In all, a memorable stay in the beautiful city of Tromso. Astrid kindly welcomed me into her very warm and homely apartment in what can be a very cold and testing place in the winter time. Thanks Astrid!
The view from Astrid's home is every bit as incredible as listed in the description, and the location easy to find following her directions. Astrid made the effort to welcome me into her home and to Tromsø. She left the light on when I returned late from various Aurora tours, and provided tips on local attractions. She had everything ready including information on local transport, and I enjoyed learning about her experiences working abroad in Africa and Asia.
That was such a great time with astrid in this wonderful apartment with this spectacular view! Shopping in tromso. Polaria and museum and fantastic view from the mountain. Almost whale watching. Hihi... And we made it.. finally.. seeing the northern lights from her terrace. I'm so happy. :)
I really enjoyed well neated her house and cozy feeling. I could see the great view in the morning and night time both at her balcony. It took 10-15mins from city center by a bus and approximately 30 mins by walking. was really good experience to stay real Norwegian place. ;)
