In winter: specific conditions:
______
DURING THE WINTER:
- Access: the chalet offers all the comforts in summer. But it is an alpine chalet that offers rustic comfort during the winter because, from November to April, the access road to the hamlet of Valpreveyre is transformed into a ski slope for the Abriès ski resort. We recommend climbing on foot or cross-country skiing on the groomed ski slope. The distance is 2.5 km, about a 30-minute walk.
- Water: the water is cut off by the municipality from November to April. However, water remains available at a spring that is 300 meters from the chalet, or in the stream (transport with bottles and a sled at your disposal)
- Energy: Heating is provided by two large wood stoves. There is a gas stove (4 burners and oven). There is electricity for the fridge and outlets to recharge your electrical appliances (mobile phone) in the basement only. Lighting is done with rechargeable LED lamps (USB hub in the cellar).
- Toilets: there are two dry toilets. One inside the chalet, the other outside. The outdoor toilets are not usable in summer. For indoor toilets, please put sawdust in it after each use.
- Shower: the bathroom is not usable during the winter. 2 possibilities: 1/ a cat toilet in front of the stove or fireplace with washcloths that are in the bathroom. 2/ Or in camping shower mode: we provide a large stainless steel pot with a capacity of 50 l to heat water on the wood stove (by melting the snow), a camping shower and a large round plastic tray to be placed on the floor.
- Safety: Valpreveyre is not covered by the mobile network. It is therefore imperative before and during the stay to regularly inquire about the evolution of weather conditions (in particular on possible "return of the East") in order to anticipate and descend into the valley. There's a satellite phone in the chalet. In winter, the chalet is located in an avalanche area. By renting this chalet, tenants acknowledge and agree to take full responsibility for the risks associated with avalanches.
Experience to live: ✨ Imagine yourself near the stove after a beautiful day of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, the snow falling gently outside, and the absolute calm of the mountain. Winter at Bric Bouchet is the call of adventure combined with the comfort of a warm cocoon.
Practical information:
• Parking: in summer, in front of the chalet. In winter, parking at the foot of the slope.
• Coffee: machine with filters (remember to bring your filters).
Bedding:
• Room R+1: Double bed 140x190
