We had a terrific stay at Jack's place in Point Reyes. We were in the area for a wedding, and the house was the perfect home base for us. Jack was very quick to respond to any questions that came up before and during our stay - really, so helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this spot!
We loved everything about this spot -- the art, books, well-equipped kitchen, decks, lovely gardens. The host had everything set up incredibly well. It's close to the national seashore and the wonderful Perry's Deli and Marin Sun butcher shop as well. We hope to return.
The cabin is a rustic architectural gem. Open but still cozy, with lot of light and amazing views of the surrounding tress and garden. It is filled with all kinds of art and unique furniture. It is obviously a very loved space and it feels very welcoming. Also, the market is a short walk away and it is amazing! I hope to visit again.
I loved sitting on the deck listening to the birds. It was quite spectacular, there were so many singing so beautifully. I also enjoyed sleeping next to the creek, and sitting outside on the patio. Thank you.
We spent two nights here and enjoyed our time tremendously.
The cottage is more spacious then it appears in the photos and is beautifully flooded with light.
Secluded in a quiet neighborhood, it’s just 5 minutes waking distance to a nearby convenience store, with baked goods and delicious sandwiches.
The house has a beautiful antique O’Keefe & Merritt oven, however it does present some challenges to cook with. The oven quickly set off the smoke alarm the first time we used it and the stove struggles to boil water but was strong enough to fry some eggs. The better plan is to grill or go out to some of the area’s great places to eat.
We’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.
There was a clear explanation of how to use all the amenities and where we could go for hikes and restaurants in the area. The property is exactly how it is listed. The area is amazing and this house is located not far from the main hub of town. It is nice and quiet, and it feels like you are all alone. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and everything was easy to use. Netflix and internet were easy to access. Hot tub was fun and the area, while outside, is set off with little walls. Overall, we enjoyed our time immensely!
Jack was a wonderful host: we had clear instructions and quick responses from him throughout the process. His beautiful home in Inverness was exactly as described and photographed -- and his friendly tabby cat was an added delight! Lovely setting, easy to find and close to the little town of Inverness and Point Reyes Station. We would highly recommend it to those looking for a beautiful, restful retreat!
About the Host, Jack
My wife, Susan & I try to travel 3 or 4 times a year. We live in a singularly beautiful place but it seems the psyche needs a change of scenery periodicaly. We always return home with a fresh perspective and love for our West Marin community.
