The tranquil neighborhood was in the middle of a wonderful forest with only one neighbor house visible from the house. The decor was retro and charming for our artistic tastes and we were comfy there. We would only recommend one improvement. The double bed downstairs was fine, but the living room sofa hide-a-bed was impossible to sleep on (worn and going downhill) and the metal frame cut into my back. I recommend a new sofa bed as the ones today are much more comfortable. If you fix this we would love to return.
Maybe the most interesting and eclectic homes we've ever stayed at. Location is quiet and right in the Point Reyes/Inverness area. The home is beautiful, the hot tub is icing on the cake and the feeling of living in an almost tree house atmosphere was great. Daughter absolutely loved all the trinkets, gadgets and special art around the house. Hosts were easy to deal with and responsive to our needs. We come to this area quite often and will stay in this home if it's available in the future. Top notch home!
We stayed at Jack's place for two nights. The setting was quite nice, surrounded by trees, gardens and very quiet. It was a great location to get to various towns and the beaches. Our favorite part was the sweet and very polite kitty, Al. She made us feel most welcome!! I love fresh air in my house, so was disappointed that most of the windows either didn't open or didn't have screens. Other than that, very comfortable!
The place was great and exactly how the posting described. My wife, 2yr old son and myself stayed there for 2 nights. Very quite and relaxing place. We really liked all of the unique decorations and the craftsmanship of the place. We would definitely return again if we make it back to that area. So much more to see and do.
Everything was wonderful at Jack's — we wish we could have stayed longer! The home was beautiful, welcoming and peaceful and a great place to stay near town. We did a lot of day hikes, so the outside shower and hot-tub were a nice added bonus. When there, we recommend walking down to Perry's and grabbing a sandwich. Plus, the resident cat was very friendly and loved hanging out with us during the evenings for pets.
About the Host, Jack
My wife, Susan & I try to travel 3 or 4 times a year. We live in a singularly beautiful place but it seems the psyche needs a change of scenery periodicaly. We always return home with a fresh perspective and love for our West Marin community.
