Whatever you do, double your vacation days and stay longer! This house is beautiful and the pictures are just the beginning. The location is perfect for a secluded weekend or a base point for exploring the California coast line.
Walking into the house was like stepping into a tree house; with the large floor to ceiling doors open, the breeze through the leaves was breathtaking. The kitchen was spotless and had all the amenities. The downstairs is surrounded by rock walls that add texture and continuity as you step outside to the hot *hot* hot tub and the outdoor shower. Really just beautifully done.
Stop by the deli on the corner. We wished we had done it the first day. The sandwich area is great, but the local food section is amazing. Fresh produce, local meats and cheeses, and a great been/wine selection. Great drive to oysters on the bay, bodega bay fish market, or local (website hidden) for last, the cats!
My wife and I had a great stay at Jack's Point Reyes Unique Creekside Home. The house feels very private surrounded by trees and a beautiful garden. The house is great for relaxing in the evening after a day of hiking - comfortable sofas and chairs, multiple patios and a hot tub. The cats are super cute as well - one is super friendly and the other is a little shy. A great getaway.
We loved staying at Jack's magical house. So charming and delightful, it totally exceeded our expectations. it's a real California treasure filled with character and love. The setting is gorgeous and the location is wonderful. We walked to Perry's deli each morning for a smoothie and got to explore the beautiful trails beyond in no time. we will definitely return and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique & lovely getaway.
Good place! Great location. We enjoyed it.
Jack was very communicative and the house is simply gorgeous. It's very close (email hidden) and deli and the corner of Vallejo and Francis Drake.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. There were a few noticeable issues however:
The downstairs bedroom areas can have an unpleasant odor from the laundry room.
The main bedroom does not have a door, so changing clothes and other private time can be difficult, especially if you come with a larger group as we did (5)
As this guest did not contact us about odor concern we were not able to help out and were also unable to detect any odors after their departure. Please be aware that the house is in the woods and it is possible, but infrequent, to have a stray raccoon or neighborhood cat leave a unpleasant odor in the area. We also too periodically use a deer repellent on garden plants which has an unpleasant odor.
If you're reading these reviews, you've already taken a (email hidden)e look marvelous, don't they? Here's the thing: they really don't do the spot justice. This is a BEAUTIFUL property and location. You'll have easy access to all that Point Reyes and the surrounding areas have to offer, but you may not want to leave. We booked two days and it wasn't enough (this was the unanimous decision of the family). The host has done a great job with the atmosphere and the little details. Check-in/ check-out was a breeze. This was a great choice and we couldn't be more pleased. If you're looking (email hidden) w/ fantastic character, look no further and book now.
Second time we stayed in the house, and we'll be back! We love spending time in the sun room and the two cats are the sweetest :)
Wonderful stay at Jack's house in Inverness. Peaceful and lovely.
We had a nice time in this creek side home. It was very cozy, had a great location, lots of fun lamps in every room, heated bed, fire place kept us warm, lots of natural light, great outdoor shower.
We did notice a cat litter box kind of smell in the laundry room. With some airing out, it lessened.
In the afternoon while relaxing, we could hear the stream in the background. Very peaceful. Cute cats. Overall, a nice spot.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed this secluded spot for a weekend in mid-March. The space is really unique, intriguing and surprisingly spacious. The hot-tub was already hot when we arrived which was fantastic. The downstairs with the bed was a little chilly, but that made the bed warming cushions that much more enjoyable. Even my girlfriends cat allergy wasn't an issue because the place was spotless and while the cats were friendly they were by no means intrusive. Lovely place, and perfect location, I look forward to coming back to this spot!
