The space
This is the Entire House Listing for The Desert Rose

The Desert Rose is a large, gracious home which comfortably sleeps 8 (or 10 with its auxiliary queen bed) people in warm, inviting rooms.

If you don't need space for 8 to 10 people, consider booking any or all of the three individual guest rooms which share the large marble bathroom in the bedroom wing: The Safari Oasis, The Gardens and/or the Crown Jewel.

The John Wayne Suite with its own bathroom is available on the opposite side of the Desert Rose.

The Desert Rose has wonderful common areas to promote both indoor and outdoor activities. Within a 5 block walk, safe day or night, you can go to USU-Eastern's gym, the Geary Theater, professional tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court, the year round wave pool, the indoor Olympic pool, Washington Park, Pioneer Park, the Children's Dino Mine Park, Skate Park, the new Pump Park (still under construction), Carbon High and restaurants!

Guest access
Guests have access to their rooms, all the main floor common area and all of the yard. They do not have access to the garage or basement. They may use all appliances, the gourmet kitchen and outdoor BBQ. We provide a coffee, tea, hot chocolate center for your enjoyment. Whether you are here for work or play, we want you to be comfortable and have prepared the Desert Rose accordingly.
The Desert Rose encourages entire house longer term stays by offering discounts.

For fewer people, check out our listings for each unique guest room:

The John Wayne Suite with its own bathroom
or
The Crown Jewel
The Safari Oasis
The Gardens
which are in the bedroom wing and share the large marble bathroom with shower and jetted bathtub

Other things to note
Our kitties are currently occupying the garage and yard until they move to Texas this summer. Please don't let them in the house. If you are uncomfortable with cats, the Desert Rose may not be your best choice.

Price, Utah, United States

Price is a small town with a big heart and a lot of historical and cultural diversity.

There is literally nothing you can't do in the area we call Castle Country. From great adventures into our desert to explore the Old Spanish Trail or the escape routes of Butch Cassidy and the Robbers Roost gang, there is no place in the world that matches the red rock canyons of the San Rafael Swell. Everywhere you go, the recent and ancient past engulf you. Start at the Prehistoric Museum for an introduction into dinosaurs and ancient man. From there, go find where they all lived. Nine Mile Canyon, the world's longest art gallery. The Secret Canyon (Range Creek) which was protected for over 50 years by the Wilcox family and which contains some of the most pristine archaeological sites in the world. The San Rafael Swell, home to ancient Native Americans, the Spanish conquistadors, Outlaws and our earliest Settlers.

Mountain biking, climbing, 4-wheeling, bouldering, canyoneering, hiking, equestrian activities, rodeo, fishing, water skiing, camping, we have had it all for a very long time but are now beginning to share it with the world.

Hi, I am Joane (Jo-nee). I am a rancher, farmer, lawyer, cowgirl, sportsman, world traveler and a product of our Carbon County cultural melting pot. Born of Scotish/Irish Mormon pioneers and Greek immigrants, I was steeped in the history, geology and archaeology of our Old West heritage and I enjoy sharing our adventures with guests. I shoot Cowboy Action with the Castle Gate Posse, race endurance horses and chase cows in our desert, raise black Angus cattle and now, commute to Texas regularly. I share the Endurance Rider's motto: You Can Rest When You Die!
