Hello! Noah (Ben) and Vanessa here! World travelers and now Seattlites!
This room has a nice bed that can hold up to 2 people until we find a new roommate to live with us. Please note that we have a newborn, who may cry for 5 mins here or there.
This place is simple and your room is small, but you will be within a block of the best that Ballard has to offer. In our opinion it's so much better than downtown, but it's a 60 sec walk to the busstop if you still want to head downtown to Pike's Place or to the Space Needle. It's only $2 or $3 :)
You have access to our kitchen and best of all, us! See below
Interaction with Guests
We only work 3 days a week so we're usually available to offer a slew of other services to you i.e. $5 to take you rock climbing or parkouring at the local gym, $10 to take you climbing/parkouring/fire spinning outdoors if you have your own equipment and experience. $20 will get you 5 or 6 hours of professional instruction in acro yoga and the like. We can show you some of the best parts of Seattle, cinemas where you can have dinner and drink a bear, etc. Or we can just leave you alone!
Our neighborhood is happening like downtown but without the dirt, tourists, and pickpockets :) Try the local Pho, eccentric forms of exercise, bikram, see the Bridge Troll, hit up the bar scene, gourmet cupcakes (weird stuff like potato chip or bacon cupcakes are available), and perhaps our favorite - Card Kingdom/Cafe Mox, a bar that is also a restaurant that is also a game store that lets you play any card/board game for free!
The bus system is cheap and everywhere! We have street parking off the main street and we'll pick you up from the airport for $10 (taxis are $40 + tip). On days when I'm not at work, I'll drive you anywhere close for $5, further away for $10, $20, etc. We also have a couple bicycles for rent, and seeing as how most everything is close and connected by park trails, this may be the best way for you to see the city in the summer! :)
Other Things to Note
Seattle is an eccentric city and we are eccentric people. You COULD just visit and see the space needle and Pike Market but if you really want a unique experience, take advantage of the fact that you'll be staying with 2 teachers. Teachers of fire spinning, aerial silks, circus arts, parkour, capoeira, rock climbing, acrobatics, acro yoga, etc. Ask us to show you! I charge about $60 an hour for most of these classes, I will charge you $5 - $20 depending on where we need to go and what we need to rent!
Don't bring drugs into the house, even though pot is legal here. We have to keep the place odorless for the comfort of the guest who comes after you. There is a fee that we keep if you lose a key, wreck a bike, or trash the place. Leave everything as clean as you found it, and above all, don't forget that we are not a hotel. If you say you're coming, don't leave us at the airport for 4 hours and then call to cancel! We have 6 jobs between us and a newborn so caring for guests affects our entire schedule for the week. Other than that, we're pretty chill. There is no curfew but know that you may hear the occasional baby crying as we get it milk late at night.

You couldn't ask for kinder, nicer hosts. It helped that we had shared interests, but even so from laundry to bus routes to local spots to hang out, Ben and his family couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The location is convenient to busses that go downtown, and Ballard itself has much fine stuff to do within walking distance. And the baby is ADORable.
I couldn't have asked for better hosts than Vanessa and Ben! They welcomed me into their home easily. The room was basic, but very clean and VERY comfortable! I could have as much privacy as I wanted, but was made to feel welcome to join them to talk, watch TV or just sit in their living room. They made room available in the refrigerator for groceries and free use of the kitchen.
This space is perfect! Within easy walking distance to a full service grocery store, restaurants of all varieties and general shopping as well as easy bus connections to many areas of Seattle. To the west, a slightly longer walk to the locks and the ocean! I would definitely return on a future visit and would recommend it.
Fantastic hosts! I stayed here for about three month. Totally loved my stay here. Interacted a lot with them. They helped picking me up from the airport, brought me to the climbing gym, invited me for movie and dinner together, etc.. Very nice people. I had a lot of fun this summer! I could have also tried the parkour and acroyoga they offered, but I was fearing that I might be too fat for that.
The futon is very comfortable for sleep. Very accurate description, and helpful pictures.
The neighborhood is the BEST in Seattle. Great restaurants, bars, movie theaters, art stores all within walking distance. The bus stop is only 2-3 minutes away from the apartment. Very convenient!
